Broadly speaking, you probably agree with the large majority of the views commonly attributed to whichever group you identify with - what are the exceptions? Something that if you mention without a caveat immediately makes people jump to conclusions or even attack you?

I think violence should be the last resort, not the first, when speaking of revolution.

My sincerest wish is that you're correct. And to see it come true, of course.

You don't dialogue with cancer. There's a cadre in society whose only purpose is to perpetrate the establishment. We either use violence now or starve later, there is no other choice, apart from suicide.

[–] Zorque@lemmy.world 2 points 8 hours ago (2 children)

There's also a cadre is society that wants people to ignore any other viable strategies in favor of theirs, because they're too close-minded to ever consider an alternative.

Just because you want to hit people over the head until they agree with you doesn't mean that's the only solution. It's just the only solution that doesn't require you to think about the consequences of your actions.

It's also the solution that is immediate and immediately gratifying to the emotions of those who have it, who are under the impression that they can impose their 'truth' on others with violence and force.

ICE is literally kidnapping people because they have darker skin. Peaceful protest only works when the other side cares about what you think.

Don't worry, I'm sure they'll come for you last due to your white privilege.

Looks at history... Yes, you're right, peaceful revolution is the absolute most likely scenario here. Musk, Nadela, Huang, Pinchai, Andresen, Thiel, et all are 100% going to surrender power and wealth. It's not like they have a company like palantir working to stop any dissidence to develop at all. In the past decade, the single most effective advocate for healthcare in the US was the dude who offed Bryan Thompson.

But don't worry, we know your white privilege makes you benefit wonderfully from the status quo.
