Sounds like he probably thought he got food poisoning or a stomach flu when the symptoms first appeared. The two weeks later, when we had red meat again, it killed him.
Lots of people don’t consult a doctor if they have a random episode of vomiting or diarrhea.
Doctors and tests are expensive.
Also food poisoning is just common enough that it's the assumed problem.
Lot of us can't afford to go see a doctor over little diarrhea.
After a week of stomachaches, I took my wife to the hospital. They ran some tests and told her it was likely norovirus. Charged us over $4000.
Holy fucking shit. Was the news delivered by the lord almighty with a massage and a perfectly cooked steak? Because that's the kind of service I'd want for four fucking grand with that level of shitty diagnosis.
That's shockin'.
With how hospitals in the US can be, a lot of emergency rooms are too small and if they run out of beds, you just get to sit in the hall. It'd be nice if they gave you a discount for that.
I feel that pain. Like I've been in a corridor in the emergency department but at least mine was capped at €100.
I honestly would have been looking for the discount otherwise.
