R/conservative is really funny right now. They're clawing their own eyes out over literal NYC just because it's Daddy's favorite place

Psyched for Mamdani and NYC but it's hard to believe how many people voted for a sexual harassmer who is also openly corrupt

[–] coldengineering1234@lemmy.world 32 points 10 hours ago

Well we do have a child diddler for a president.

Is it "hard to believe" when the Americans voted twice to elect a full on rapist for President?... with the added qualifications of convicted felon, fraudster and 99.99% likely a pedophile?

I think it's time to accept Americans could not care less about sexual assault, women or kids rights.

Yes, that is a generalization with a nasty connotation but that is what Americans have shown to be

Yes, it's surprising because it's NYC. I expect better from a city that's 60-70% liberals.

[–] Jhex@lemmy.world 3 points 7 hours ago

The issue, IMO, is the "fuck you, got mine" attitude from so many Americans.

Sure, someone who identifies as a "Liberal" may not want trans people be victimized but if they themselves are not trans (or maybe a close loved one), it's really someone else's problem not really worth doing anything about... maybe a post online

Fascism has taken over in the USA because of decades of dumbing down the public and rage farming... but the actual cause at the moment is that the raging idiots are willing to take action while the rest, unless personally affected, "can't be bothered"

I am sorry, do you not know who run the presidency?

[–] dreamkeeper@literature.cafe 4 points 9 hours ago

Yeah but it's NYC. A lot of people voting for him voted against Trump.

[–] theneverfox@pawb.social 4 points 6 hours ago

You say that like it isn't the totally normal thing that seems to happen more often than not

[–] DarkFuture@lemmy.world 3 points 4 hours ago

If you think that's wild wait till you hear about all the law enforcement officers across the country that voted for a convicted felon and adjudicated rapist.
