The incident unfolded Saturday in Chicago’s Old Irving Park neighborhood, where residents say federal agents disrupted a children’s Halloween parade

Shocking video shows a chaotic scene on a quiet Chicago street as Border Patrol agents in tactical gear drag a 67-year-old man from his car while children in Halloween costumes look on in horror.

According to his running club, the man, who is a U.S. citizen, was returning from a team run when agents pulled him out of his vehicle, tackled him to the ground and kneeled on top of him, allegedly breaking six ribs and causing internal bleeding.

I can't imagine the kind of force it took to break SIX ribs badly enough to cause internal bleeding.

Unfortunately not that much force is really required when you're dealing with someone who is 67. The elderly are a lot more fragile, even if they are in great shape for their age. Which is why anyone without a brain disease knows to be gentle when assisting the elderly.

There is no reason to use this much force against an unarmed senior citizen other than to physically harm them.

Remember in the first Trump administration, when they were just practicing their cruelty, and they permanently disabled an old man for having the nerve to politely return a riot cops helmet that he had dropped? In response, the cop shoved the old guy, knocking him down, bashing his head, and destroying his life.

I will never forget watching that video, and as the old guy hit the pavement and laid there, a trickle of blood came out of his ear, and I knew he was seriously injured.

That was an accident, now they're doing purposefully.

that was an accident

No it wasn't

I remember the video. He shoved the guy away, but I don't think he meant to knock him down. The cop seemed really disturbed by it at the time, as well. He was not happy about it, but that's what happens when you join up with a fascist authoritarian force to abuse your fellow citizens - you find yourself doing heinous shit that they told you on Sunday School would send you straight to Hell.

I remember they didn’t help him back up either so on purpose or not really doesn’t make a difference.

Valid. I'm not defending the guy, I just saw his immediate remorse.

And I was glad to see it. He joined up thinking it would be service to his country, and even kind of fun. Now he finds himself oppressing his fellow citizens, and trying to keep that tough face, knowing he's in the wrong place.

Then this happens to him, and his regret was palpable. I don't know whatever happened to that guy, but he was clearly having conflicts with his role. I'll bet he is still feeling guilty over his actions, which he deserves.

If he's still on board, then he deserves any bad karma or addictions or poor mental health he suffers as a result.

Would be really interesting to hear from him
