Depends on the species.
I suppose there are day mosquitos as well, but most come during the evening and night.
The mosquitoes are still around and bite people during the day it's just that at night you don't notice them.
And an open invitation to be robbed, kidnapped or worse
I don't think this is the United States. So they should be save.
I couldn’t find any locations on Borneo on the list, but KL has a safety index of 39.5 on Numbeo, and Jakarta is 47.4 (higher is safer).
