Rules: (interactive)
1) Be nice and; have fun
Doxxing, trolling, sealioning, racism, and toxicity are not welcomed in AskLemmy. Remember what your mother said: if you can't say something nice, don't say anything at all. In addition, the site-wide Lemmy.world terms of service also apply here. Please familiarize yourself with them

4) NSFW is okay, within reason
Just remember to tag posts with either a content warning or a [NSFW] tag. Overtly sexual posts are not allowed, please direct them to either !asklemmyafterdark@lemmy.world or !asklemmynsfw@lemmynsfw.com.
NSFW comments should be restricted to posts tagged [NSFW].
5) This is not a support community.
It is not a place for 'how do I?', type questions.
If you have any questions regarding the site itself or would like to report a community, please direct them to Lemmy.world Support or email info@lemmy.world. For other questions check our partnered communities list, or use the search function.
6) No US Politics.
Please don't post about current US Politics. If you need to do this, try !politicaldiscussion@lemmy.world or !askusa@discuss.online

Yeah this is basically what my optometrist said, that I can expect some adjustment.. but doctors always downplay stuff and like.. I’d like to get a better idea :)
I took my glasses off earlier and just looked at them at a distance and I think only one of them has a substantial prescription, which miiiight explain why I feel ill..
Get a second opinion from literally anyone else. If your optometrist is dismissive and down playing your concerns, fire them and get a new doctor who will listen.
That’s a dramatic overreaction to what I said. They haven’t dismissed anything, because I got these glasses today. They said I could expect it. Weeks ago during the appointment.
One thing about glasses that are much stronger on one side, the weight can make them tilt, especially as your nose sweats. And the tilt can mess with the focus, especially if you have any astigmatism. It could be something to mention if you have given them a week and need to go back.
I've worn glasses since 4th grade but when I got progressives it took me almost a week to stop feeling like I was falling downhill. Maybe book an appointment for a followup . Start making a list of things to discuss if you keep it. You can cancel it if you've adjusted, giving someone on the waiting list a nice surprise.
