Sharing this episode of Brian Tyler Cohen this week, Newsom is his first guest. This isn’t the only pod Newsom did this week, but I just listened to it so it’s fresh on mind.

I know there are lots that don’t like him, though I don’t know why. But I’m a blue dot in Texas and am thankful that he is stepping up to stop the garbage that my awful governor is doing so his daddy will give him a lollipop.

I think he is the only one truly stepping into the leadership role that the democrats so badly need. The show notes have the link to his Act Blue for his ballot measure to restrict in CA and fight the Texas republicans. It’s imperative to get the word out to CA voters so they get out and vote for this measure. We need to put our full support behind those standing up to fight. I’m also looking into volunteering with the movement.

Anyway, I just wanted to get this out there. Please share with those that you know who have critical thinking skills.

Edit: my god, people. I said nothing about the presidential nominee. No one else has stepped up as a leader in this moment. It will be over a year until any presidential hopefuls fully announce. He wouldn’t be my first presidential nominee choice compared to other governors. But he’s fighting the attempted steal for 2026. He will need major media and communication strategies to get out the CA vote in this off-cycle election to approve these maps. I live in the hellhole that is Texas. Anyone who will put our fuck of a governor in his rightful place is someone I will get behind.

Enemy of my enemy, I guess. Make no mistake, he's doing this to protect himself, not you. He made his priorities clear when he vetoed RCV.

You know who doesn’t take (and insist on always bringing up) the nuances of their politicians? Republicans.

Let’s rally behind a movement that can counter the erosion of our most basic rights, voting and representation. We can argue about other rights once those are secured.

Ah yes, we should all think like the fascist, and give our obedience blindly.

That is an argument made in bad faith, because I said nothing of the sort.

If you put a piece of paper in front of me that asked me to vote between Trump and Newsom or any other corruption-lite candidate that promises to only erode our rights a little instead of a lot, sure, it's an easy choice to vote for the latter. I did that in every election of my life, and I would continue to do it, barring better choices. That's more than millions of other Americans did.

But I'm real sick of the DNC and their simps telling me I'm a traitor for not pretending they're feeding us shit sandwiches over and over and that I should be grateful it's not also filled with broken glass.
