The reality is they’re still afraid of us

Are they though?

"We" broadly sit out here and post memes and then choose not to debate our friends and family who can't hold a conscious thought because it's so much easier to retreat to discord and argue with people already on your side.

We're not doing anything. Marches were fine, great... we didn't keep it up though, and nobody exploited that momentum. We don't purge our Democrat leadership who are not actually opposing anything, and we only pay attention to politics when it's the WWE theater spectacle of federal elections and utterly ignore who is on our school boards and who is running our county and towns.

We scroll endlessly for dopamine hits and escapism while learning to turn off our conscious thought and medicate our discomforts instead of rallying together for broad-scale change. We are ineffectual at best. Most of us are dumber than shit and have no interest in anything past celebrity gossip and clickbait.

I would argue the wealthy, corporate nazi-loving assholes in the world might be miserable inside, but they're absolutely not afraid. They are so massively overconfident that they sell you things you didn't ask for every day and have no qualms about openly supporting fascism so it makes their profits go up.

It's exactly because they're not afraid that things got to this point.

I remember back after the 2008 Crash how the UK Government just went for Austerity and gave the money to asset owners (i.e. the rich) so that in the subsequent years the bottom 90% of the population in average saw their income falling at 1% per year in real terms (per the official figures, which themselves tend to understate Inflation) whilst the top 10% saw their incomes in average go up 23% per year.

Meanwhile in France the wealthy were actually telling their Government to tax them more (I kid you not!).

Britain never had a Revolution of the masses (the closest, was the Barons rebelling against the King, which resulted in the Magna Carta, which was just the elites redistributing power amongst themselves), whilst France is well known for their use of the device favored by Monsieur Guillotin.
