The following comments have me coming across as acting very paranoid, but they're how I genuinely feel right now.
Some of you are acting as if the next year and a half is gonna go smoothly and that the 2026 midterms will be a perfect opportunity for the Blue Party to tear down MAGA once and for all. Well, let me tell you folks something, what matters most is what we should be doing at this very moment.
It seems that if we're not gonna continue to focus on tearing this admin down sooner than 2026, this nation could be seriously screwed by that year the more they continue to freely enact these unpopular neo-fascist policies and face very little consequences for them. Not to mention, the Orange Man is already being officially exposed for his ties to a billionaire pedophile and credibly accused of aiding him in the brutal rape of children. Why nobody in power wants to see it as a genuine moral transgression is deeply disturbing.
Seriously, I have had enough of this talk about the midterms! I instead want us all to keep using our collective voices to demand this whole presidency gets taken down sooner than late-2026 so we can be able to take this country back from a felon and rapist and his band of incompetent slimeballs.
The sooner they are out of office, the better.

Wait. Are still assuming the US justice system GAF?
gestures at WALL-E mountains of felonies
Whatever you're smoking, can I have some?
Basically this, but with less attitude.
Elections in the USA have never been free nor fair. The Federalist papers reveal that the intent was explicitly to blunt the influence of the democratic process so that it could not threaten the standing and power of the wealthy capitalists who effectively owned the colonies and objected to paying for shipping on their taxes.
I'm not even talking about all of the bomb threats or systemic voter suppression like strict voter ID laws, registration purges right before the election, blatantly unconstitutional gerrymandering (literally ruled by several state supreme courts, and the Republican state legislatures said "what you gonna do about it?"), voter intimidation, and limiting polling locations for poor, Democrat-leaning areas.
Those are all terrible enough, but actively interfering with the already cast votes would be a new level of rigging.
FWIW, you're still commenting on recent events in a side conversation that offers a far wider scope in order to broaden your understanding of "how we got here" insofar as "this and more has been SOP for centuries", citizen.
I understand the history of the US. Just because it's happened in the past doesn't mean we shouldn't be outraged at it happening even more blatantly now, in 2024.
"Slavery has always been a thing, so you shouldn't be surprised"... That's what your comment sounds like.
I get that you're a drummer and all, but let's open your perspective up and "assume" that this is bigger than just "the US" and endemic to the global system of governance for millennia. At no point did I recommend you be less outraged, but focus brings efficient use of attention, intention, action, etc. — which we're all in short supply of these days (just the way they like it). Breathe. Think. We are not so dissimilar, friend.
lol ok, you do you
No one said anything about this not being the norm since humans have lived in communities. You seem to just want to chat, maybe go outside and talk to real people, it might help a bit.
That tracks. You stay focused on the beat, then. You're doing great.
Hey. They call it vulgar Latin for a reason. Besides, it's only a smidge, and the inherent vitriol is aimed at the system, not the commenter. 🙇🏼♂️😜
not the current US DoJ patsies, but enough citizens would have to force Congress to push for charges at least
In this, and many other examples, "patsy" and "complicit" are near equals; the vast majority of US leadership is to blame — and has been for a very very long time.
