60 minutes will be talking to the director of NIH about the upcoming cuts to NIH. The current admin. cut funding completely for my daughter's disorder (Neurofibromatosis).

We used to get 15 million to 25 million, now NOTHING. Cancer, brain tumors, vaccines, dementia and on and on are said to be cut.

If you cannot watch it tonight, it will be on YouTube in a couple of days.

Thank you.

This is my first time ever going to an overnight protest, and I want suggestions of what to bring for entertainment, safety, and other necessities.

Cory Booker just said "everyone is welcome to join us at the Capitol" and to DM questions if you can't get there in person. I don't know the exact time stamp he said that, but it was within the last 10 minutes. https://www.youtube.com/live/5ceR90lihX8

I know there is a lot of things going on inside 50501 and the groups that can be extremely frustrating, but I want all the organizers to know that you are seen and appreciated deeply.

It's extremely mentally taxing to run these events, especially with a shortage of volenteers. The work that you all have done, even between jobs, caregiving, household chores and (hopefully) self-care, is incredible and inspiring.

I don't think a lot of people realize how much work, and sometimes money, it takes to put on these events, especially for the larger groups.

You ARE making a difference. Don't forget to look back at the photos and videos taken at your events and say, "I did that. I made that happen." between your work and reading online remarks.

I highly highly encourage anyone who is frustrated with how certain things are run, to PLEASE join your local group and kindly share your ideas. They are likely struggling under the work load and, from what I have seen, are very open minded to new ideas.

Most of all, though, thank you organizers. Truly. You have sparked people to realize that they have power, and sparked communities to get together to do great things. Take care of yourselves and remember... you are, right now, a key player in history. ✊🏻

With the arrest of a judge, we can't play "that won't work anymore" - we need to try to get order back. This is the quickest way there, and all within the constitution.

  1. Get 4 or 5 Republicans in the house to caucus with Democrats and put in a new Speaker - someone who will be committed to righting the ship, no other big agenda. And the speaker can be literally ANYONE in the US

  2. Impeach Trump and Vance together in the house

  3. Push it to the Senate. By then the country should be rallying in support of the move. We need 15 R Senators to vote for it - we have five who have already voted against Trump's nominees - McConnell, Collins, Murkowski, Budd, and Paul.

We could have our country back, but we need roughly 20 republicans to do it. We should all be calling any republicans who might crack and pressing for this to happen.

Hey, y’all. I’ve been working a lot to try and stay more informed but it has been getting increasingly difficult to find any reliable information. I’ve been using sources from here and their links, scrolling through and reading various news articles, along with fact checking social media posts that I see (such as reading proposed/passed bills, reading news coverage, etc).

But even with that I realised just how little I knew when I was at 4/19 and how little I could find aside from local coverage and such (which is even more difficult to do considering I’m from a small middle of nowhere town). I’m aware that I can’t know everything at anytime all at once since it’s just one thing after the other, but even with topics I felt like I was more informed on, such as trans rights, I just didn’t know a lot.

I feel like I need to know more and know more about what I can do since I won’t be able to attended May 1st since I will be in school (I’m 17) and they’ve already gotten upset with me and threatened legal action against me over missing a couple classes along with testing starting. I just want to know how I can learn more and be more informed, especially since I’ve started deleting a lot of my social media.

And on a side note, I don’t know how to properly mange how much I should be informing myself/managing the information I learn since I often end up doing so and leading myself to spiralling and such.

Any help will be greatly appreciated.

We need to send a message LOUD AND CLEAR to the Trump Regime and El Salvador, that the people of the United States do not support the disappearing of our people to gulags! Hit 'em where it hurts!

Hi friends! This is just a suggested schedule - the sooner people can plan on attending, the better turnout we can have! I've been looking for the location where we vote on the schedule, but can't find it anywhere. Trying to get a bit of traction in helping everyone plan ahead and keep moving forward :)

We have been fighting tirelessly to have rights and have been attacked by the Trump administration over and over. Are we not important enough? We lived in a democracy that still tried to outlaw our existence. Do y'all care if we're allowed to exist within the next government that takes charge? You complain when we advocate for our brothers and sisters at protests. For the younger generations of us trying to fight for their right for freedom. Because we're not popular with democrats who have abandoned us. Because we're too hard to stomach for some of y'all. Are we not good enough to y'all? Do you actually want us to thrive or do you just want our support so you can start a new government without bothering to give us rights? I am all for stopping Trump, but can we stop pretending that we aren't hated by tons of people and treated poorly and made to feel suicidal everyday because of what is being done? Just be honest if you want us in the movement or not. I'm done acting like it's okay to debate our existence. Tell me now if we have the support or if we need to protect our own.

Around 2014, the United Kingdom was one of the best places to be transgender. There were great protections, healthcare was readily available (although with long wait lists through the NHS), and in general, transgender people could live a pretty normal life. This is relative to the time of course as other countries had not progressed as much on transgender matters.

In the span of a decade, the U.K. has gone from this to having some of the most regressive transgender policies in the western world. The U.K. embraced the largely pseudo scientific Cass Review which literally claimed that transgender people can not possibly be happy and must be lying about their own happiness, which of course means that transgender healthcare is bad.

During the same span of time, Germany and France created their own transgender healthcare policies which are among the most inclusive of any country and directly call out the Cass Report as unscientific.

https://www.erininthemorning.com/p/new-german-swiss-and-austria-guidelines?triedRedirect=true

https://www.erininthemorning.com/p/new-french-guidelines-recommend-trans?triedRedirect=true

Yale University also created its own critique of the Cass Review.

https://law.yale.edu/sites/default/files/documents/integrity-project_cass-response.pdf

Despite this, news agencies such as the New York Times, BBC, The Guardian, The Economist, The Atlantic, Telegraph UK, and many more took the Cass Review as gospel and began writing progressively harsher anti trans articles.

NYT in particular was cited in many of the worst anti transgender laws in the country and their false narrative has literally caused transgender youth to committ suicide out of hopelessness.

https://www.them.us/story/66-percent-new-york-times-stories-trans-issues-failed-quote-trans-person

In the U.k., the conservative government completely banned puberty blockers for transgender youth. Then the Labour Party refused to repeal that law and became progressively more transphobic throughout their time as the ruling party.

Fast forward to last week and the U.K. Supreme Court ruled that transgender women are men, do not qualify for protections reserved for women, and cannot even legal call themselves lesbians if they are in a relationship with another transgender woman or a cisgender woman. Transgender women must use the men's restroom. Transgender men are expected to use the women's restroom. However they have a clause that if a trans man's appearance could cause alarm in the women's restroom, he also could be kicked out of there.

These kind of policies are downright sadistic. Ironically, as an American citizen from a trans friendly state, I have more rights in the U.K. as a visitor. Since my birth certificate says female, the U.K. wouldn't readily have a way of knowing that I'm transgender. The Labour Party has expressed support for this ruling and truly has completely thrown transgender people under the bus.

We will not let the United States go the same direction. I will not let my right to exist be the heavy object the democrats throw out of their sinking ship. We don't owe that to you. We don't owe that to the stock market or whatever other dumb status quo bullshit you long for. If someone can look at this chaos going on and decide that trans kids playing sports is worse than pure fascism, they were never going to vote for a democrat in the first place. No one has rights until everyone does.

Note: apologies for typos. I literally wrote this wearing rubber gloves.
