My idea requires some more work

I think this only works on a world wide scale. Make salaries all the same everywhere, one world coin.

Houses are currently extremely overvalued, real value for most houses is easily 3X less than they go for now

Most houses could go for under a million. Two people live there, a 10M cap gets you very nice house with loads of room to spare, still.

If anything, the 10 million cap seems too high still

Mmmm, sort of, I guess, depending a little on who does what different percentages maybe? A guy who does 4 hours vs a girly that works 8 hour day, for example, but yeah, there should be something like that

I still want to reward founders too, you need people to start something new, give them a bigger % or something, but those are details

Either way, if nobody can be filth rich anymore we should be able to get to a stable point where all people can work way less, where we focus less on consumerism, focus more on life.

If you talk about killing the few people like these that are the root cause of all these problems, you're a terrorist. You go to jail

These people actually kill people by the thousands, millions, and we call them smart CEO's and celebrate them 🥂

The idea of ranked voting itself, you mean, or that people actually believe that the Democrats would actually do this?

Because the latter? Yeah, no, they'll hold it up as a shiny thing and drop it the second they get into power. This IS the USA, we don't improve, we stick to all our shitty systems that have failed us for decades, or centuries even.

The metric system is evil too, y'know! It's the devil!

I think socialism is awesome but capitalism, when highly restrained, is more effective at generating capital.

I think a few fairly simple steps can merge the best of both.

Limit personal net worth to, say, 01 million dollars. Companies can have a networth of, say, 1 billion tops. Below that, put like 10 or so tax brackets, the more you're worth, the more you pay tax. Anything over those limits goes 100% to tax

This favors many smaller companies working together instead of one huge monster that can't even take care of itself and requires regular bailouts

The tax income will be more than enough to support a large socialist system that can take care of free education, free healthcare, etc, hell, even universal basic income

Best of capital generation, best of socialism.

Turning point should be labelled a terrorist organization.

So far it hasn't made any violent attacks but I'd argue it's much, much more insidious than that. It creeps in everywhere with tonnes of lawyers to corrupt the minds of children, letting them know that a pedophile president is fine, fascism is the best way, and believing in the 2000 year old tales that were copied from much older tales, is the only way to live a moral life.

Uh huh...

Fuck turning point, it's founders and leaders should be jailed for life, the organisation banned

What's wrong with webp, exactly, besides maybe some systems still not supporting a decades old format?

Jackie Chan is in his 70's now... I'm not sure how that would work out

It's very effective... At suppressing people, taking away liberties and rights... I mean, they're not wrong

It's also highly effective at waging senseless ears that destroy the future of the entire fucking country, and then adding a touch of genocide on top of that

A program that HR had built so that all employees could they their payment receipts online

The username was the companies' email address, the password was a government personal id code that you can lookup online, a don't change, and you can't update the password to something else.

So I told the director of HR this was a bad idea. She told me I was overreacting until I showed her her own receipt, then she finally understood that this is a really fucking bad idea.

Okay, so now she out me in charge of debugging that program.

So I setup a meeting with the director of the company they hired, he came by with the developer: a 21 yo girl who I think hadn't finished college yet. Great start! Apparently it was her idea to do the authentication like that so that explains a few things.

So we dive in to the code.

First of all, the "passwords" were stored in blank, no hashing, no encryption, nothing. That wasn't the worst.

For the authentication she made a single query to check if the user email existed. Of that was true, then step two was a second query to see if the password existed. If that were true, the email had been authenticated.

So let's say, hypothetically, that they had actual passwords that people could change... I could still login with the email from anyone, and then use MY OWN password to authenticate.

This just blew my mind so hard that I don't think I ever fully recovered, I still need treatment. The stupidity hurts
