50 cents per installation of an alternative app store is very malicious indeed. It feels like they don't want anyone to use that feature...

I see that, but since I do not use iOS devices, I was curious whether the changes were already implemented in the EU.

Wasn't the Digital Markets Act in the EU supposed to force the same? Did they implement it in the EU already?
