i almost quit during that crazy screaming scene in the living room
me: downvotes you because of chrome
i have a samsung 2.5" ssd and it actually would benefit from active cooling. when i installed my os, downloaded my steam games, and then made a copy of one (because steam insists on updating which breaks mods) and noticed that write speed was slow af...so i tested with kdiskmark and all speeds were exactly at 75mb/s while they should be at like 550. it throttled to keep temperature under 60c.
nm just spyin'
self hosting is the recommended way, but it seems difficult and i don't have time to dive that deep
i actually just found one that seems promising, neo launcher. one thing i need that was missing from the others was the ability to organize apps into folders in the app drawer
so invidious now has a red logo? jk, but I'm finding it nearly impossible to find a working instance anymore. and if i do find one, it's gone the next day :(
the problem with chromium is that because 98% of people use it, google gets to decide how the internet works basically
I've also been looking for foss launchers, been using nova for like 10+ years (not foss). lawnchair is supposed to be an open source version of pixel launcher, and i tried fossify too, but they lack features i need. most foss launchers are just too minimal, so i haven't really found anything good...
use another launcher
I'm having hard time understanding how the microcode patch is delivered. system updater or bios update? I'm fucked if it's a bios update cos my shitty gigabyte mobo won't detect the files
