If you ask me:-

I use a combination of my instincts, including distro-hopping, since I began using Linux in 2017, reading articles online about Linux tutorials, and even watching YouTube videos. I gave up on Linux and returned to Windows many times, but it ultimately made me return to Linux because it is meant to be my forever operating system. There are so many Linux tutorials available online, including on YouTube. Indian channels taught me how to install Ubuntu, and that was my most memorable beginning with Linux. I also recommend chatting with current viral technologies such as generative AIs; they'll provide you with answers. So, keep exploring Linux. πŸ˜ŽπŸ‘

it’s true that even smart people fall for well-crafted social engineering.

Also, I have concerns that if I sign up for only one instance, that instance may shut down one day and I could lose all my data.

I can see that some instances have different rules and different kinds of names. So far, I have found that lemmy.world is the most reliable and general instance I can participate in. I discovered another instance called monyet.cc; the name looks funny. "Monyet" in Malay means "monkey." That's why I am currently awaiting their review to see if I can participate in that instance.

Beware. I am glad that I was informed by the news that these kinds of chats may be a new scam tactic, especially when someone we do not know well messages us for the first time. As you can see, this account hasn't replied to anything, giving me the impression that this is indeed a scam tactic.

If I ask an individual named Chuck Schumer, then I'll get his answer, his opinion. Being oppressed by abusive and exploitative leaders is a valid struggle.

Agreed. πŸ™‚πŸ‘

Personally, I don't take advice or inspiration from a figure named Elon Musk. For me, empathy is a fundamental human value, not Tesla or Starlink. With empathy, I believe highly wealthy people can already solve world poverty and be happy together. But no, they use us as a source of income.

I see... πŸ™‚ I'm glad I'm not alone, and I will continue to find the most reliable instance that aligns with me and complements my identity. πŸ™‚

For me, the US is still a democracy with elements of an authoritarian regime. Yes, I believe this can happen in any country, including mine, if the elected party or a wealthy figure decides to amend such authoritarian, manipulative, and exploitative policies.

Awesome! πŸ˜ŽπŸ‘

I signed up for so many fediverse instances that are open for registration. Yes, so many. Maybe around 10 to 30 instances; I didn't count. But I'm sure there are many. Am I the only one who does this? 🀣 How many fediverse instances have you signed up for?
