well you should look at the backend that one is bad.
The front I did some big changes during christmas, it was a big improvement on the UX
it started as a thing before being conected to the fedi. Its just that seemed like the best way of keeping the project alive and OH MY FUCKING GOD IT WAS HARD AND OH MY GOD I COMMITED SO MANY CRIMES AGAINST CODE
they announced it more than a year ago, but tumblr now is on a skeleton crew. and no, I do not mean gay zombie pirates, I mean just a few of devs. AP is something hard, Ive done it my way but it would not scale to a tumblr scale.
Also, they have to add a lot of stuff to the interface
