We had a fellow who shot at the unmarked unidentified police roaming around Minneapolis during the civil unrest following the murder of George Floyd. He was at a gas station if I remember and they beat the shit out of him. It took a while but he won the case and some money.

How is this the first I am hearing that Belgium was just open for the taking?

And isn't the deadlock not sposed to influence that like we're supposed to have money for SNAP to continue.

If I am hearing what you are saying it sounds like they don't see these immigrants, minorities, or non-whites as people. Like they think they are subhumans and don't deserve the same rights as humans. I hope that isn't the case.

So I get that the GOP has to remove these "illegal immigrants." But it looks like they're just putting them on airplanes? Are there like Uhaul trucks for all their stuff following them? Does their family members keep it? What if they don't have any family?

I know when we were rounding up the Japaneses that a bunch of non Japanese folks stepped in to take their stuff.

Like okay I'm not supposed to live here but I still own this house and car. Plus my I just paid the Netflix subscription. Maybe I have a family I like so I have some photos of them that aren't on my phone because I've lived here for a long time before all the pictures went on the phones some are even polaroids. Do you get to bring your ATM card? What if they charge really high international fees?

Tetlock. He's got a few talks on youtube that are very interesting. As someone who called all three recent presidential elections, I almost bought his book so his talks were fairly interesting.

I guess it depends on which side of the boot you find yourself on. Also probably need to account for the folks totally unaware of the system for which they work. Off the top of my head I'd guess the economic top 20% are fairly happy with the empire continuing and toss in a large chunk of Trump supporters something like 30% of our population. Obviously there is overlap between these two groups, but I'd guess somewhere between 30% to 40ish% would be opposed to the US empire declining further.

That is def one way to accelerate the decline of this American Empire.

This is just my own speculation, but I think we are seeing a new group of techbros, for lack of a better term, jostle for their seat at the table. We as a nation have refused to expand our positions of power even though we've grown in size. For example, we have a capped number of Senators.

We've funneled so much new money into the hands of these tech elite they have near run out of places to spend it. So we have multiple private space companies, a booming apocalypse bunker industry, and why not buy a few representatives as well. My point is a bunch of Ayn Rand 1950s sci-fi loving man children who control resources as vast as they do present a terrible condition for democracy and human rights. We are just watching this power struggle between the old guard and the new kids play out in real time. And the women, immigrants, and LGBTQ+ communities are the first to be rounded up this time.

I knew he wasn't when he had his goons clear the protesters from the park so he could have a photo shoot in front of that church during his first term. You could see the bible was burning his hand from the way he was holding it.

Obviously Tremors. Dune is just Tremors in space and being a book it just happened to get released before the Kevin Bacon classic.

We go four years of lessons about how the rich and connected live by a totally different set of rules and laws from those of us that are not rich or connected.

This seems a few levels beyond the drone strikes. These boats from my understanding could've been stopped and were no match for the US Navy. Some of those drone targets were in the middle of no where. Here we have the current administration choosing to just murder a bunch of people on a boat while being able to use any number of non lethal solutions.

You should reconnect with them to see if they are now blamimg immigrants for their situation.

I'm not talking about the people going underground part or them not knowing why they are there, but the parts were lots of things are hinted at or plot bits dangled and then it just turns out there aren't any answers.
