Besides, MAGA is a cult of personality. They will never give their full loyalty to anyone else. Once HitlerPig assumes room temperature, it is the beginning of the end for MAGA. Their peak influence will be behind them, and they will lose at least 50% of their power instantly, and then steadily slide into obscurity.
Every time HitlerPig replaces a competent leader, military or otherwise, with an ignorant loyalist, the opposition gains strength.
If SCOTUS has to round up a military force, they have a deep bench of extremely competent and accomplished military leaders to draw from, who will be going up against drunken MAGA Nazi morons like Hegseth.
These are leaders who have previously earned the respect of their troops, and given the choice of following true, patriotic military leaders, or MAGA Nazi dickheads, most are going to choose to follow those they respect, and respect them in return.
