I mean "anticommunism" and "nitpicking" are perfect examples of mods abusing their power.

The only communities I have been banned on reddit were r/conservative and r/Pyongyang, and I have had plenty of disagreements over 7 years.

On lemmy I have been banned for defending AI, for pointing out historical pacts, the holodomor or gulags or for saying developers deserve to be paid, among others. In one year.

A war veteran and a literal astronaut. What elon fantasizes about being.

I think it was less, 5€. One time payment a while ago.

I love the raspberry pi, but it's far from being competitive to something like an apple m4, a Qualcomm snapdragon or an am5 chip from AMD.

For its intended purpose it doesn't need to, but it's way slower and less power efficient.

I'll contact the maintainers of all my favorite FOSS programs written in x86 assembler, to ask them to port the software to RISC-V.

How did they crack the code??

I miss the entertainment subs...

[–] Tja@programming.dev 3 points 10 hours ago

Because it's a bestiality sub!

Well, if you don't pay for the service, advertisers will, and they won't like anti-consumption content. Catering to your customers and all that... you are the product, doesn't matter what you want.

Well, until you look for moment and you realize why the water is warm and it smells of ammonia.

Instead one power tripping admin team with a clear profit goal you have hundreds of small, per-instance, admins that will ban you for disagreeing with them and whole communities of fascists, tankies and combinations of both who brigade, stir shit and troll to their hearts content.

I deleted my reddit account more than a year ago (this is my second lemmy account) but I don't think the community here is better in general. Single instances are strictly banning politics and make some communities bearable, usually restricted to tech, but that's about it.

And hobbies. Sadly, even popular sports don't have active communities on lemmy, let alone more obscure activities.

Or use a precise title. It's not a backdoor or a "backdoor".
