In the US? I'd say it's pretty safe to be a little gender nonconforming unless you're really out in the sticks. If you were properly nonbinary I would be a little more careful, but still most people will live and let live.
As a trans person, we have a lot more to fear from the federal government than from our neighbors, at least in ~80% of the country.
Billionaires are evil, but that doesn't necessarily mean that they are all consciously evil. They're "evil" like cancer.
Of course, many of them are consciously evil, too, but obviously that part is a choice.

You could do part puzzle game, part rts. What I mean by rts is that you can give the knight commands but you can't control him directly. And maybe he doesn't always do what he's told, and you have to account for that somehow?
Could make for an interesting roguelike, too, as you try to help this endless stream of knights rescue you.
This may or may not be the darkest timeline (it's pretty close)... but it's 100% the stupidest.
