"yeah this thread is discussing how the American people are actively burning teslas and dealerships and all that but ameriturds totally won't do anything"

I'm watching news every day about how the Turd Reich is cracking down on anything that opposes them, but yeah the people totally aren't doing a thing.

The pearl clutching of many non-north American people is becoming nearly comedic.

It's always been "you shouldn't lump everyone on that label as the same because they aren't" up to now, so it sure is "confusing" as to why suddenly all Americans bad.

Until citizens can pressure those in government to uphold the rule of law and create/enforce consequences for unlawful actions, this sort of thing will unfortunately continue.

Yeah, the only way this is happening from now on in the US is for some very much not legal things to happen.

But hey, didn't someone recently say something about whoever saves their country commits no crime?

If the punishment for doing nothing is death, the punishment for speaking up is death, and the punishment for acting out is death... Well what's stopping the masses from breaking out the guillotines?

Oh right, tons of us are still under the illusion of some kind of social contract being honored by all parties, and are so afraid of losing what little scraps they have they don't want to stick their heads up after seeing so many get beaten down.

I want Star Trek, not Mad Max or Water World.

But like.... Skip ww3 and the eugenics stuff... And the romulan and klingon wars...

The utopian future where energy is renewable and replicators make SCARCITY the only thing that's scarce.

This is going to get people killed.

If I've got my CCW on me and I see a bunch of dudes in masks and no description clothing trying to force someone, especially a woman, into a vehicle, then I'm drawing and not stopping to ask questions.

Honestly I wonder if they're just waiting for that to happen so they can use it as an excuse to be even more brazenly brutal and operate even more openly.

This is not "I am an American and you should let me in" it's very much "I'm fleeing my country for political persecution please allow refugees in from this shit hole country"

Good to know nationalism, inhumane conditions, and good old fashioned concentration camps are acceptable as long as it's "hurting the right people"!

I still have my 2005-2008 era Sony Vaiao in the garage at my parents house. If it booted up, I'd probably still have limewire running.

I need to wear a knee brace or use a cane, and I'm not even exaggerating.

Living in an echo chamber can make one pretty deaf to life's real problems.

I've had more conversations than I can count with people I would never be able to talk to in person, all using our own native languages.

The original posts are in English, people comment in their native language, and I use a translator, then respond in my own language. Is the translator perfect? No! Neither is theirs.

With the way most translators I've used work, it's easier for the non-native speaker to try translating, since the translator might try and use different words that entirely change the meaning, but likely list possible alternatives. A native e speaker will understand the alternatives while a non-native speaker probably won't.

That's my thought process anyway.

Never had anyone who wasn't pearl-clutching or virtue-signaling complain about it. And I've had tons of conversations with people I'd never have talked to otherwise.

See, he ASSUMES there's "no way to win" and that this judge will always, regardless of anything else, strike down things because they're "against republicans/trump/whoever"

Why?

Because that's exactly what they would do, are doing, plan to do in the future, and can't imagine a world where someone else isn't just as shitty as they are.

Projection. Insecurity.

I mean, there's no way to win, but that's because this is one of those things that can't be ignored and absolutely should result in consequences. I'm not hopeful that real consequences will be had though.

The indomitable human spirit.

Also known as "the ability to exist out of pure spite, because FUCK YOU I ain't collapsing over THIS bullshit."

Nothing says "we are a free and open community that welcomes others" like moderators banning discussion of poor moderation.

Yes, I do understand what the rule is there for. No that doesn't make it any less hilariously shitty.
