I agree with you and appreciate the call out and the positivity. Too many new accounts on Lemmy lately that are commenting negative and defeatist things on positive headlines.

I don’t know, I’m only Canadian lite (Minnesotan) and was just answering the question. If I remember correctly he was a pretty big supporter of George Bush in the 00s so I’d assume he’s always a been pretty conservative and that’s likely only gone further right with age and more wealth.

Chronic traumatic encephalopathy aka brain injuries aka multiple concussions

They’re implying that it’s the result of head trauma suffered during his playing career but it could just be he’s a shit person.

wtf is up with that road?

In the US in states where they experience cold enough winter temperatures that the ground freezes for months of the year the asphalt (or tarmac) used on the roads is softer than in warmer states. This is so that when the ground shifts due to the freeze the road surface can flex and move, however sometimes the road surface cracks and fractures. When that happens they’ll use a flexible joining/sealing compound to fill the cracks to keep them from eroding further and wearing away while still allowing the road to continue to shift back and forth during the freeze and thaw.

Frost lines are a common consideration in building codes and in the northern Midwestern US the frost line can be several feet deep.

I think it might be time for Old Glory to go upside down.

If you ever make it stop off in Saint Paul and check out the C.S.P.S. Hall too!

New Prague is a small town of about 9,000 people in Minnesota. I’ve never been to New York or New Orleans but I love Minnesota and would welcome and encourage anybody who’s interested to visit.

polling shows most republican voters are *not* in favor of extreme abortion restrictions. They want abortion up to a certain point and for certain reasons.

So those polled voters indicate what they want in a poll.

But when they're told the other side is murdering full-norn babies, they go for what seems to them like the lesser evil.

Yet those same voters elect (choose) the politicians (their representatives who speak for them) who want something different.

Again I ask why a distinction should be made, in regards to voters and politicians, when discussing party. Seems to me like both groups, voters and politicians, say one thing and do another.

As Maya Angelou once said, “When someone tells you who they are, believe them.”

Politicians are the elected representatives of the voters. If the politicians want something their voters don’t then why are they being elected.
