What a childish take.

well your moral purity doesn't matter because this is politics. the decisions we make about our society fall into grey areas and tough decisions. you don't want to do that work you don't have to, but you're part of the problem if you think you're being a decent person right now by grousing about indecency.

a moral vision isn't enough, there must be a practical one, and if you're useless in that endeavor, have the grace to stay out of politics.

I'll at least admit the existence of patriarchy, which is more than you will get with Lemmy's misogyny problem.

It's weird that you found a way to center women in this topic about men. Please think about that.

I used the word "histrionic" -- "histrio" is Latin for actor.

Elsewhere I said:

She’s performing histrionic masculinity; men who can’t control their emotions become a problem for the movement.

Quit being such a weak man, allowing your emotions to govern your reaction.

I'm a misandrist: men fucking suck, and your masculine display of emotional incontinence is what makes men such a problem for women.

As to misogyny? I don't think women are all that great, either, but I'd rather work with women than men, for the most part.

Provided they can woman up.

Your inability to control your valid trauma response is a hindrance for serious politics. Less histrionics, more calm thoughtfulness, please.

If you can't handle being told this, you don't want equality, you want handouts.

Shit is much harder for women in a grand variety of axes, but this is politics. Shit is hard for men, too, and if you're not prepared to enter into these conversations to listen to men, if you come here to center women in a topic about men? You're part of the problem with progressive politics.

It's not trivial to do but if you're not willing to do the work, shut up.

You want to believe that young men are more complicated than they actually are. Your childish notions of men as complicated feelings creatures who need to open up and express their feelings oh wait not those feelings are part of the problem.

the universalizing ideology of feminism for men is incoherent

and if you react with anger to someone, me, stating this fact, that feminism is and ought to be for women, you're part of the problem, shut up.

feminism is full of lessons on how feminism helps women, men should read feminists

but it's stupid to expect feminism/feminists to advocate for men's issues

and it's insulting to ask men to believe that all they have to do is be good feminists and they'll get what they need.

if you're a man and you want to write about how actually all men need to do is understand patriarchy, seriously shut the fuck up.

if you're a woman and you want to write about how actually feminism is good for men, seriously shut the fuck up:

stop centering a tool for helping women, feminism, stop centering women, when men is the topic. do you understand? can you understand? the topic is men.

shitlib pop feminism does not want to hear that railing against the patriarchy isn't especially helpful for men

Hello,

I'm starting a politics community devoted to sorting through the mess of discordant incoherent discourse in the wake of the fascism.

Rather than report on the news as it happens, this is a discussion forum intended to provide a foundational grounding and trim some of the confusing elements from play more directly.

If you were upset that people were covering the overtly expansionist nature of Trump/Trumpism because you think he's just 'blustering,' this community is not for you.

Here's my starting position on the nature of the movement of the present rightwing in the United States. https://lemmy.world/post/24284267

Not every person who voted Trump is a fascist. The more people who are calling it what it is, the better.
