I stopped using reddit quite a bit after the API exodus. I've more recently just felt the itch to check out reddit due to content. Regardless, I don't post, or vote on reddit to at least minimize the support I give there.

I mean part of the thing is that the federation allows instances to be more strict. Right now, Reddit has a huge financial disincentive for clearing out bots. If these bots bring in attention, and bump up their numbers, then the company looks better. Here, instances can be more aggressive with banning them. I do agree it will be more difficult as there's not as much money coming in here to help deal with bots as instances get larger, but at least the incentive is there.

Yeah I'm honestly suprrised. Is Lol really good at keeping toxicity down? I play Dota and used to play league, I would still agree that Dota may be toxic than league, but I wouldn't say its a huge difference. Lot more Smurfs in Dota if feels though.

Have you confirmed that no website you provide ad revenue or membership fees to used AWS? If you haven't checked, then you probably have supported Amazon. Amazon makes most of their money through AWS.

Regardless, good on you for not buying from Amazon directly. I too haven't purchased from them for years

Saying we can do better than trump/fascism is not what the OP is implying. The op is implying what were are doing now is the same as what we have done before. We can acknowledge that we've done bad before, but now it's for sure way worse. I agree with Bernie that now is way worse than before

For real. The issues occurring in the US are various, but the vast spreading of disinformation in the US is crippling. Don't let unchecked lobbying (aka bribing of politicians) occur in your country, don't let "news organizations" spread false realities.

I'm in jerboa, I don't see this seeing. Is this something I should just do on a PC?
