I do not know what happens during an ISP change, but i do know that during the recent amazon server outage, these smart appliances stopped working. There was a case where someone with a smart matress (yeah apperently that exists), couldnt sleep because the matress was launched into a weird W shape position and heated itself up.

Cooking only from scratch no factory products. Meat also only from the butcher and not supermarket. I know where the butcher gets his meat from. And wanting to learn how to do lots of things myself to be self reliant, less wastefull, enviorment friendly and its mostly cheaper. Dont need no smart toaster!

I've gone away from plastics and only use natural materials, perferable renewable. If something is damaged i can just repair it. Creating less waste, saving money, and the objects have a personal touch and story to it over time.

Leather instead of artificial leather And yes i am building my PC case out of wood and glass if i need a new one

Okay we need to talk about this because in my opinion this hasnt become a boomer opinion that, as proven over and over again, is just a better and smarter decision. Most of things that are "smart" dont need to be. Why does a fridge, toaster, TV, matress or oven need to be connected to the internet??! For what?!

I would rather see the Union succum than to see it a vassal of china

[–] Goldholz@lemmy.blahaj.zone 1 points 2 hours ago (2 children)

Its banning production and sales of new fossile fule cars. Not banning the cars themself

[–] Goldholz@lemmy.blahaj.zone 8 points 2 hours ago

Yes! We should stick to it! Its the german car industries fault for not keeping up. Not our problem! We shouldnt pay the price for it!

AI wont change much. Most people already dont inform themselfs and dont vote based on the partys/peoples records, standings, goals and what is best for everyone. They mostly vote on feelings, what they have always voted, or "to show them".

They cant even remember more than what happend 6 days ago.

Example:

Germany. Since schmidt got backstabbed by his party the conservatives took over, who ofc didnt do anything to improve the nation. No investments but took the money that was supposed to go into investments like germany wide glas fiber cable into his friends from variouse lobbys in this case copper cables for TV. Reunification just fell into Kohls lap, the government gutted the new eastern states of all its industry, wealth and prosperity. They ruled for 16 years. Then the country voted for Schröder the old russian puppet because he drank beer with people and "seemed like a decent man with whom you can have a drink with". He with his neo-liberal approach did quite the damage to the social system and his tax increases and the jobmarket problems killed him. Then 16 years conservative Merkel rule where nothing happened. And so much corruption its crazy! But people got MAD at the Scholz Administration for actually wanting to change thing for the better. "THE GREEEEEEENS! ENVIORMENTAL FRiendly reeee!!" And so, they voted in, THE FUCKING CONSERVATIVES WITH A BLACKROCK LOBBYIST CHANCELOR CANDIDAT WHO IS LOVEY DOVEY WITH THE FASCISTS AND NAZIS OF THE AFD! And who even while campagning told everyone that his government will be packed full of the most corrupt ministers of the merkel administrations just in different ministrys, and litteral lobbyists! And still 25% of germans think that the litteral russian puppets, who are proven to be lead by fascist Bernd Höcke, employing russian and chinese spies, who throw out nazi slogans and speech like an "amen" in the church, who litteraly write that they'll undo all social systems and lower the tax of the rich, plus want to leave the EU which would cripple germany in a few years harder than it did the UK, would fix it all...by deporting people. Be it german potatoes, imigrants, refugees, germans with migrant family background. The AfD wants to deport them all

People are fucking idiots. But as a wise old person once said:

"Democracy is for the people, by the people. But the people are retarded"

No. But they dont have a lenghty process to make laws and regulations

[–] Goldholz@lemmy.blahaj.zone 16 points 20 hours ago

The little thing called "invading ukraine" and those that drive porsches are not your average citicens but the upper crust buddys of putin who are as guilty as putin

As director of the New River Health Association Black Lung Clinic, Emery’s seen guys as young as 45 getting double lung transplants as disease rates soar among miners forced to dig through more rock filled with deadly silica to reach the remaining coal — far worse than the dust their grandfathers inhaled.

A rule approved last year by the U.S. Mine Safety and Health Administration would cut the federal limit for allowable respirable crystalline silica dust exposure by half to help protect miners of all types nationwide from the current driving force of black lung and other illnesses.

But, now, it’s in jeopardy amid other Trump administration cutbacks and proposals targeting workers’ health and safety guardrails: Stuck in a politically charged environment that promotes industry, with lawmakers arguing to change it and the federal agency that wrote the rule not pushing to enforce it. Some angry retired miners with black lung are fighting back, demanding that Donald Trump honor promises he made to the people who voted him in.

1.5°C climat goal is gone with 2024/2025 being every day being above that. A positive view of science says we are heading to a 2.7°C hell by 2100. Thought with current politics that is highly doubtful and we might already have that with 2050.

Especially fellow young people, i would like to hear your look apon the future, are you doing something now because you probably wont be able to do it in the future?

How will you imagine life will be like? Will you have to move because of the rising sea levels?

For me i see black. Its over and this is the coldest we will ever have it. I am enjoying somewhat livible summers and lukewarm winters (I remember when there was snow) as long as i can. The future is done for and im angry and sadend by all the people that dont care or actively fight against enviormental policies and living
