With the arrest of a judge, we can't play "that won't work anymore" - we need to try to get order back. This is the quickest way there, and all within the constitution.

1. Get 4 or 5 Republicans in the house to caucus with Democrats and put in a new Speaker - someone who will be committed to righting the ship, no other big agenda. And the speaker can be literally ANYONE in the US

2. Impeach Trump and Vance together in the house

3. Push it to the Senate. By then the country should be rallying in support of the move. We need 15 R Senators to vote for it - we have five who have already voted against Trump's nominees - McConnell, Collins, Murkowski, Budd, and Paul.

We could have our country back, but we need roughly 20 republicans to do it. We should all be calling any republicans who might crack and pressing for this to happen.

Congress today is full of a bunch of corpses they haven’t gotten around to burying yet. Soundbites instead of spines. Press releases instead of plans. Dinosaurs dutifully manning the slow grind of bureaucracy, pretending they can outlast a meteor.

My name is Jesse MacKinnon. I am a history teacher. I am a parent. I am a longtime local of CA-10. I am someone who believes in individual liberty and working-class dignity. And I am bone weary of watching people with no imagination and no urgency try to “wait out” a fascist movement that never sleeps.

I know I’m not the most likely candidate to run for Congress. But I believe deeply that either Mark DeSaulnier and our Democratic leaders will do more to confront this growing despotism, or that I will go to Washington and try to help stop the pillaging of America myself. In case you missed it, trump is signing executive orders targeting law firms that represented his political opponents. Then after they agree to work for him for free, he reveals the orders. Finally two firms said no and sued, but more than six law firms already caved and agreed to do free legal work in order to get the president to stop illegally retaliating against them for the crime of representing trumps political opponents.

Why is this not a bigger story?
