Yep, dont really use mastodon or even bluesky, my twitter groupchat is still my hs friends and I like it when they arent talking about sports. I do post there more than I do on X, I miss twitter I used to tweet so much, before the changes. (Stopped seing friends likes on my feed, I followed funny ppl and without that it was over)

To be fair it is easy, if it allowed you to comment and didnt delete them lol

No you cant, karma requirements bud, try making a new account and posting/commenting anywhere?

Does it exist? I miss when YikYak was for hometowns and you could view other cities or comment/post there if in range. I don't like its current state after coming back. It was like the neighbour apps but less facebooky with a crowd under 50, was the ultimate local news source.

I use porkbun and you get cloudflare through them, not sure to what extent, porkbuns just cheaper, I like their ui, straightforward, everything you need on one screen.

You can try the sanctus demo yourself and see if it works for you on Blender running on Linux. Alt tab easy fog 2 says win/mac and a reviewer had issues running it on linux, i tried another material addon, the materials work but previews in its ui are broken.

Wonder if I'm missing a dependency, no idea how to check, seems odd that the material itself wouldn't work on linux

I had a few not install, some say that linux isnt supported in reviews and dont work like alt tab easy fog 2, and sanctus are the ones I remember off the top of my head (sanctus menu didn't work and caused blender to freeze, took me forever to realize it was soemthing I was appending that had a sanctus material causing my crash, didn't realize til I installed the addon on a fresh install and tried applying it to something getting the same issue)

Maybe Linux, too lazy to swap back to windows, a lot of random stuff doesnt work or is super annoying to get working, like a material library addon I use for Blender doesn't work for linux apparently (sanctus) and makes it so I cant render with any light in the scene so its not just the menu but the materials themselves. I was hoping at least blender would work, already had to stop pirating houdini and I couldnt get the free version to work either.

All games have been fine, but I dont just game anymore, I like making stuff and playing with 3d tools.

At least embergen seems to work, so I might transition to jangafx over houdini, can buy it monthly and I spend way too much time learning houdini (its fun af) when im likely never making money off this hobby. (cant justify 300$ a year or 2500 perpetual rnow, its an insanely fun simulation toy so it honestly might be worth that, even not making money off it) Its just annoying, I've spent too much time learning it, my brains crammed with Houdini specific information.

I started off using Voyager, swapped to Mlem because of slight differences I preferred. Recently found out Thunder for Lemmy is available on the apple appstore and it instantly became my favorite. I like how unique the ui is compared to other, it seems better suited for browsing and posting on Lemmy, while the others feel better for the initial transition from Reddit. Very suprised it has barely any downloads or reviews when its easily the best Lemmy app on IOS.

Thunder reminds me of the more "modern" alternative front ends for lemmy some sites have while mlem and voyager feel more like the alternative reddit apps (blue alien) and give a similar experience.

On desktop, I've been using Friendica.

It was easy enough to do it with self hosted mastodon, cant seem to login to any of the Lemmy apps with my selfhosted website? Lemmy.rip

UPDATE: I had to renew through a setting in yunohost, not automatic, porkbun was showing it as valid and I I'm used to them grabbing it automatically or having me paste it in during setup.

Can I rent an 8 core 16gb vps and then put friendica, mbin, mastodon, and lemmy on it? Can I somehow use the same site to login to all of them or would it be like m.site, l.site, etc.

I use a hypervisor? enhance.com rnow to control my wordpress sites, can I still monitor/backup the servers with enhance while manually setting up fediverse instances? I could setup roles like nginx, mariadb, through it and when I do that it lets me easily setup, backup, and migrate websites to different servers I lose this functionality if I dont set up those roles through the panel. So I was wondering if I can set up those roles and then just setup the websites manually through ssh following the guides. Do they all use nginx other than friendica?

Interested in friendica, mbin, lemmy, mastodon, and peertube (going to rent another server and more storage eventually if I do that

Someone mentioned it in a comment and I genuinely didn't know what I was setting up, but its basically airdrop but to all your devices/servers so if you have an iphone like me you can goto any photo/file click share, taildrop, then pick the device, its a prettty fast transfer. It shows up in the downloads folder on my pc by default.

I no longer have to upload to icloud files to grab my files, it is very convenient and seems to be free forever for personal use up to 100 devices? I had no idea what I was even setting up til I saw the guide afterwards, I thought it was for monitoring server health, but it's made sharing files between devices/servers very convenient. (this was likely obvious, just wanted to share with others who didn't know)

Are they all gathered in one place somewhere or does it all need to be found case by case? Intrested in hosting a mastadon, pixelfed, and peertube instance. What are the vps requiremnts? I do like the idea of hosting all my own posts/comments, etc.

So all of these apps like gmail, outlook, etc. let me login to all of my websites different emails but none of them seem to sync across devices. Is there an app that lets me login to all my inboxes once and then sync that logininfo across pc, iphone, and android?

Right now I have to manually add all the email accounts in to each device, none of the mobile apps sync to their pc counterparts.

Wondering if I'm bad at using the search or if there is only a selfhosting community with a lot of subs?
