I could give her the benefit of the doubt, she seems extremely stupid. Doesn't excuse anything she's done or said though
I don't think she's as stupid as people make her out to be.
She's shown herself to be relatively adept at playing her political hand, doing things that will play well to her constituency while making money on insider trading. She timed her resignation to make sure she still draws a Congressional pension.
She's actually quite brilliant in the manipulation department. The fact you're giving her the benefit of a doubt displays how good at it she truly is.
You're doing that thing where you think everyone is the same as you. And you saw it coming.
Some people saw it earlier, some saw it later, some still havent seen it.
But empathy isn't a weakness it's a strength. So please stop acting like a Republican and understand our opponents even if the only reason is it helps us win.
What you're doing now hurts our chances of winning, even though that's probably not your intent you're helping trump.
You're doing that thing where you believe what a republican is saying. This bitch has learned nothing, but has realized she has more to gain by breaking ranks. She is abusing your empathy, and you are letting her. Stop it.

While I agree with the broad strokes of what you're saying about empathy, it's important to remember that people like this (or if we're being generous, the people she was like until just now) see empathy from their adversaries as a weakness to be exploited.
One can be empathetic without being a naive chump. When anyone has caused the amount of harm MTG has, forgiveness comes only after they have atoned. If she puts half as much money and effort into repairing the damage she's done as she put into causing the damage in the first place, then and only then can we talk about letting bygones be bygones.
If that atonement never materializes (and call me a cynic but I doubt it will) then this is just the same old conservative playbook of "now that I've stomped all over other people to get what I want, it's time for togetherness".

MTG was fully aware of and supportive of every single fucking thing Trump has done, promised to do, and will do.
This is all a facade and she is only undertaking it because she is part of the population of GOP politicians that is no longer confident Trump can steal the 2026 and 2028 elections.
Not just that, but because she lost her standing within Trump's circle. She's being pushed out hence why she's suddenly acting like this. She'll still support Republican policy that is rooted in racism, misogyny, and bigotry as long as she has more power than she previously had.
She's still a Nazi.
Green said that her turn away from unrepentant Maga acolyte came in that moment and she abandoned her training “to never apologize and to never admit when you’re wrong”.
I'm sorry, are we all just glossing over the casual mention that there's MAGA training to never apologize or admit you're wrong? I assumed this was their unofficial playbook, but this is the first I've ever heard of an actual training being mentioned.

Between Fetterman, Sinema, Cuomo, and Gillibrand it's hard to pick which one is more annoying.
