Naive my ass. She knew exactly who he was the whole time. It was just her turn to get vilified and boohoo, how could he do this TO ME?!?! Leopards, yada yada

I could give her the benefit of the doubt, she seems extremely stupid. Doesn't excuse anything she's done or said though
I don't think she's as stupid as people make her out to be.
She's shown herself to be relatively adept at playing her political hand, doing things that will play well to her constituency while making money on insider trading. She timed her resignation to make sure she still draws a Congressional pension.
She's actually quite brilliant in the manipulation department. The fact you're giving her the benefit of a doubt displays how good at it she truly is.
You're doing that thing where you think everyone is the same as you. And you saw it coming.
Some people saw it earlier, some saw it later, some still havent seen it.
But empathy isn't a weakness it's a strength. So please stop acting like a Republican and understand our opponents even if the only reason is it helps us win.
What you're doing now hurts our chances of winning, even though that's probably not your intent you're helping trump.
You're doing that thing where you believe what a republican is saying. This bitch has learned nothing, but has realized she has more to gain by breaking ranks. She is abusing your empathy, and you are letting her. Stop it.
Username checks out.
While I agree with the broad strokes of what you're saying about empathy, it's important to remember that people like this (or if we're being generous, the people she was like until just now) see empathy from their adversaries as a weakness to be exploited.
One can be empathetic without being a naive chump. When anyone has caused the amount of harm MTG has, forgiveness comes only after they have atoned. If she puts half as much money and effort into repairing the damage she's done as she put into causing the damage in the first place, then and only then can we talk about letting bygones be bygones.
If that atonement never materializes (and call me a cynic but I doubt it will) then this is just the same old conservative playbook of "now that I've stomped all over other people to get what I want, it's time for togetherness".
After meeting with victims, she claimed, Trump called her and yelled “my friends will get hurt” if the files were released.
His friends and him.
Are you kidding? His only other friend was already hurt by this, they killed themselves.
Who killed themselves? Sure as shit wasn't Epstein, Epstein did not kill himself.
Epstein is the only person who's ever called Trump, "friend".
And, where is he now?
That's his only friend.
I wanna make this abundantly clear:
MTG was fully aware of and supportive of every single fucking thing Trump has done, promised to do, and will do.
This is all a facade and she is only undertaking it because she is part of the population of GOP politicians that is no longer confident Trump can steal the 2026 and 2028 elections.
Not just that, but because she lost her standing within Trump's circle. She's being pushed out hence why she's suddenly acting like this. She'll still support Republican policy that is rooted in racism, misogyny, and bigotry as long as she has more power than she previously had.
She's still a Nazi.
Green said that her turn away from unrepentant Maga acolyte came in that moment and she abandoned her training “to never apologize and to never admit when you’re wrong”.
I'm sorry, are we all just glossing over the casual mention that there's MAGA training to never apologize or admit you're wrong? I assumed this was their unofficial playbook, but this is the first I've ever heard of an actual training being mentioned.
It comes from Bannon and Roger Stone, so it is indeed the officially unofficial playbook
The giveaways to billionaires were pretty subtle if you have oatmeal for brains.
the word "giveaway" implies he's giving them something he already had-- no, he's literally robbing the 99% in order to pay the 1%
Robfefehood
She has stated repeatedly that her political opponents are evil devil worshippers who should be executed. Nothing she says should ever be taken as legitimate or true.
NYT giving this cunt a platform. Fuck right on off.
Try "willfully ignorant" or " maliciously stupid".
She went from a net worth of about 300k to over 20 million in 5 years. Totally normal on a public servant salary.
"naive" isn't the same as "willfully-ignorant".
You're not naive, you're an evil, ignorant, opportunistic waste of skin & oxygen that knew she could get rich riding on Trump's populist coattails & is now jumping ship like the other rats since he's shown his true face & 1/2 of his moronic base finally figured out that they are in fact the baddies.
Strange way to spell “opportunistic sleaze”…
Despite her protestations, when you realize that this is what she really means, you will also realize that she has not changed at all.
Meet the 2028 presidential candidate lol
Between her and JD Couch Fucker, they've got a HOT bench /s
Don't worry. The Democrats will come up with a totally useless ticket that will make them seem viable. My money is on Cuomo/Sinema or something equally atrocious.
Newsome and Gillibrand
Newsome and Fetterman
The only way they could pick someone as VP that is more reviled by nearly everyone would be to pick Kyrsten Sinema. Who started in the Green Party, by the way. Being affiliated with that party should probably be considered a red flag at this point.
Maybe Kirsten Gillibrand is nearly as toxic, for those that remember her when it comes to Al Franken.
Between Fetterman, Sinema, Cuomo, and Gillibrand it's hard to pick which one is more annoying.
Newsom and Hochul
They’ll run a Clinton/Occasio-Cortez ticket for the bulk of the year and then change it to Newsom/Cuomo in the last three weeks. If anyone can snatch defeat from the jaws of victory it’s the opposition party we call the Democrats.
Vote in the primary, it's our best shot to have a fair one since Carter.
A lot of people are going to try and convince people not to vote in the Dem primary because of that.
That would require these people to do something more than just bitch into the void. Might be a bridge too far for them.
How much is NYT being paid to rehabilitate her image?
The much longer NYT article that The Guardian is pulling from:

LOL, the idea that any Republican is going to be a man of the people is just hilarious.
Was she naive about Jewish space lasers, controlling the weather or the parkland shootings too?
Trump called her and yelled “my friends will get hurt” if the files were released.
Trump admits his friends are pedophiles and/or sex traffickers.
You don't say.
No, no, stop it. She was horrible before this turnaround, horrible before she was in Congress, and horrible before Trump. No rehabilitation for somebody so clearly malicious without some serious and real work - not just vague and obvious words. Actions. Hard work and effort. She is not reformed. She's grifting. Stop.
Oh neat. They are capable of learning. That's a huge step forward.
They are not.
Nieve is one word fof it I guess
