That’s a Doric column and this alpaca is a big doric. Look at that bandana or scarf or whatever.

What a doric…

[–] Tar_alcaran@sh.itjust.works 30 points 22 hours ago* (last edited 22 hours ago) (1 children)

The column is Ionic, but don't let that detract from the joke!

Doric is straight, Ionic has scrolls, Corinthian is with frills and leafs.

[–] ccunning@lemmy.world 22 points 22 hours ago (1 children)

I suppose you think 10,000 spoons when all you need is a knife is Ionic too…

Who'd have thought that an Archaeology dad-joke would be the thing to make me snort-laugh today.

Well done. And thanks.

Don't you think?

[–] RodgeGrabTheCat@sh.itjust.works 16 points 23 hours ago

The critter thinks of itself as a statue that should be in a museum.

As for what is funny about it, I have no idea.

The answer to any internet-related question from that era is "because you touch yourself at night".

You were probably just really into Fortnite back then.

[–] XeroxCool@lemmy.world 5 points 21 hours ago (1 children)

I couldn't believe it'd been out for ten years, so I checked. It's been out for ~10 years, but not 10 years, originally releasing mid 2017

[–] MyDarkestTimeline01@ani.social 3 points 21 hours ago (1 children)

Even the early access for the original mode?

[–] XeroxCool@lemmy.world 2 points 13 hours ago (1 children)

F Save The World (paid early access) was July 2017. FN Battle Royale was September 2017. And, for reference, PUBG launched the beta in March 2017, full release Dec 2017

Christ. It feels like those games were so long ago.

[–] Apytele@sh.itjust.works 2 points 15 hours ago

Never played actually.

I've had this picture saved for at least 15 years.

mystery solved!

Thanks to @asqapro@reddthat.com who can remember movie titles better than me.

[–] BarbecueCowboy@lemmy.dbzer0.com 7 points 15 hours ago

Wow, this image is not showing up on any reverse image searches.

Would say we can track down the artist, but think you might have drawn this yourself OP.

[–] Kolanaki@pawb.social 7 points 14 hours ago

idk why you saved it, but I have now saved it because it's cute.

[–] homesweethomeMrL@lemmy.world 4 points 17 hours ago

Fine, Corinthian llama?

[–] inriconus@programming.dev 3 points 6 hours ago

Lamarck philosophy, maybe?

Llama + rock + thinking of a pillar typically used with philosophy.

He is trying to mimic the curl of the column with his leg; he thinks of himself as a work of art, which is a statement about the nature of art. Anyway, I don't know why you saved this.
