I always thought that Trump was a malignant narcissist imbecile. Turns out it was the sign language services all along.

I don't even understand sign language and they've even managed to make him sound like a complete moron in his tweets. That's some serious effect they have here.

THE FUCK IS THIS SHIT?

the right wing just doesn't want minorities to have anything good. It isn't that they think being inclusive somehow impedes on their rights, they just think inclusion is bad on principle

[–] Instigate@aussie.zone 21 points 1 day ago (2 children)

That’s the heart of the meaning of MAGA - to take the USA back to days where there was no inclusivity or accessibility at all. The entire phrase Make America Great Again implies that things used to be great (before inclusivity and accessibility) and so they want to wind back the clock on everything. Civil rights; human rights; inclusivity; accessibility - all of these things and many more have been blamed for the state that the USA is in by politicians and talking heads to distract from the fact that it’s neoliberalism, kleptocracy and crony capitalism that have hollowed the country into an economic husk.

Don't you know? Disabilities didn't exist until 2008 or so.

[–] b_tr3e@feddit.org 1 points 22 hours ago

That's the origninal meaning of "reactionary". Did not expect to see a revival of an ideology from the early 20th century.

[–] ZILtoid1991@lemmy.world 14 points 1 day ago

Conservatism, contrary to its lifestyle marketing image of "preserving tradition and nationality", is about preserving hierarchies. Those on top not only have a moral duty to trample on those under them, but also to externalize their tastes and distastes to those below them, including those "weird people making weird hand gesturing in the corner of the TV".

Trump administration says sign language services 'intrude' on child molester Trump's ability to control his image

[–] RaoulDuke85@piefed.social 5 points 1 day ago

Also 34 convicted felon

[–] CircaV@lemmy.ca 27 points 1 day ago (2 children)

Cant wait for the news of his death.

[–] FreshParsnip@lemmy.ca 11 points 1 day ago (2 children)

I'm gonna get drunk and listen to "ding dong the witch is dead" and "no one mourns the wicked"

[–] Fredselfish@lemmy.world 5 points 1 day ago

I will call out of work and get wasted. Be fucking party!

[–] CircaV@lemmy.ca 4 points 1 day ago

There will be parties!

[–] FreshParsnip@lemmy.ca 7 points 1 day ago* (last edited 1 day ago)

I hope that immediately following his death, YouTube, Spotify, and Apple searches for "ding dong the with is dead" and "no one mourns the wicked" skyrocket. Those songs should just immediately start playing on every phone when the news breaks

[–] empireOfLove2@lemmy.dbzer0.com 27 points 1 day ago (4 children)

Sign language interpreters can't keep up with the verbal vomit and turn it into anything comprehensible

[–] FreshParsnip@lemmy.ca 16 points 1 day ago

How dare they make him look bad by repeating what he is saying!

[–] captainlezbian@lemmy.world 4 points 1 day ago* (last edited 1 day ago)

Don't pin this on them, there are rap 'terps. The problem is that they're the only ones who can

[–] undefined@lemmy.hogru.ch 1 points 1 day ago

The fucked up part is I think his speech would be more coherent as the grammar structure is a lot more fluid in ASL.

[–] MDCCCLV@lemmy.ca 1 points 1 day ago

I doubt it's even possible, you have to change the sentence halfway through 3 times and then it's just random words.

[–] null_dot@lemmy.dbzer0.com 21 points 1 day ago (1 children)

Ah yes, disabled people are defective and should be cared for in special facilities for their own protection - lets call them wellness resorts. Also they should be prevented from having children and perpetuating their defective jeans. Also they should have to contribute to their own upkeep doing easy jobs like picking ~~cotton~~ fruit. Also depressed people are defective too soo....

[–] MBech@feddit.dk 7 points 1 day ago* (last edited 1 day ago)

No you see, forcing them to do work will help them, by making them more independent and eventually, I hear, cure their illnesses. The more they work, the more free their bodies will be! They just gotta work a bit harder, and be a bit more free!

LOL, his "image" is of a delusional and boring old Klansmen who has overstayed his welcome.

[–] D_C@sh.itjust.works 16 points 1 day ago (1 children)

The image of being an obese orange child rapist failed reality TV star with six bankruptcies and many accusations of sexual assault plus one conviction of rape as well all all the racism and fascism stuff, that image?
Well, shit, he's doing a bang up job of controlling his image already. Carry on, kiddie fucker.

[–] 100_kg_90_de_belin@feddit.it 5 points 1 day ago

Hey, hey, hey, those weren't bankruptcies, those were money laundering schemes

It's the kind of twofer GOP strategists fantasize about:

getting rid of more clear expression of ideas that can't bear the scrutiny that clarity brings while making life harder for already marginalized people.

[–] aramis87@fedia.io 11 points 1 day ago

“would severely intrude on the President’s prerogative to control the image he presents to the public,” also writing that the president has “the prerogative to shape his Administration’s image and messaging as he sees fit.”

You don't get to control your image, other people and organizations do that. You can try to shape your image, but again your image is how other people see you and you can't control that.

I'll add that I can't imagine trying to be a sign language interpreter trying to make his word salad comprehensible on the fly.

[–] Kolanaki@pawb.social 10 points 1 day ago* (last edited 1 day ago) (1 children)

It's pretty wild how "Donald Trump" in ASL is the same gesture as "jerking off" followed by the one for "bullshit."

[–] webp@mander.xyz 6 points 1 day ago (1 children)

I hope this is true. Please let it be true

[–] captainlezbian@lemmy.world 1 points 1 day ago (1 children)

Wouldn't surprise me. He actually probably has two asl names minimum because he's polarizing, famous, and hearing (if he were Deaf his asl name would just be the one he uses). The Deaf are as unsubtle as the easy jokes would imply. Also he was famously hated in his hometown which has a decent Deaf community. Decent size, probably not behavior, I feel comfortable assuming that Deaf New Yorkers aren't particularly polite representations of either of their communities.

[–] zjti8eit@lemmy.dbzer0.com 1 points 1 day ago (1 children)

I don't know, it would be pretty hard to be a particularly impolite representative of New Yorkers.

[–] captainlezbian@lemmy.world 0 points 1 day ago

Yeah, now imagine one who has no idea how loud they're being and has different cultural understanding of things like boundaries. Wait I just described a new Yorker. Ok one who also can't talk without moving their hands. Shit… um yeah has anyone checked if ordinary New Yorkers can hear?

[–] Sunshine@lemmy.ca 9 points 2 days ago

He hates deaf people.

[–] santa@sh.itjust.works 8 points 1 day ago

Fair enough. Your image intrudes on us. Get bent.

Perhaps he would be more sympathetic if someone stabbed his ear holes with a hot poker.

[–] FreshParsnip@lemmy.ca 7 points 1 day ago (1 children)

I'd really love it if the next bit of news I hear about Trump is that he is dead, under arrest, or resigning

[–] Ceruleum@lemmy.wtf 2 points 1 day ago

Or died in a slow burning fire.

Here you go I will translate for you in real time.

Trump: 🖕
