LETS FUCKING GOOOO!

I hope it will give us the option to be so arcade-y just like in Project Wingman where you can flippity flap with that flappy option instead of picking the beta cuck flair.

Yes, I will check my thermostat meter

Amazing! Sounds like it's in a proprietary engine this time? Sadly means we won't be able to use uevr to get vr working (though I hope they'll add it natively).

From what I'm seeing, it's the same as AC7, so Unreal Engine.

Wo-ooh, finally! I was going crazy replaying the same few missions from previous games and Project Wingman. I needed a new game so badly.

The story seems good so far! First time Sotoa's on screen, as well. I'm a bit tired of playing as Usea again, but oh well, it is what it is.

Also the first time we have a second seat character on screen. They are usually brushed off as non-existent (despite being visible in the cockpit). It was one of the best features from Project Wingman and I'm happy it's being carried over onto AC.

My main hope is a more fleshed out campaign with longer and more in-depth missions. After almost ten years, I really don't want another short game with 20-ish small levels centered on some gimmick that get boring on replays. Gimme big, dynamic battlefields in the vein of Ace Combat 6 and Project Wingman, and difficulty options targeted at veterans of the series!

If I never have to fly through pointless glowing circles or highly dubious canyons ever again, it will still be too soon.

The dubious canyons missions are some of the best missions of the franchise, so I'm definitely not complaining about those :D

YESSSSSSS FINALLY A NEW ACE COMBAT GAME! This looks so sick oh my god!

I enjoyed Ace Combat 7 so much it's not even funny. It reminded me somewhat of my favourite game in the series which is Ace Combat 3. I loved that game so much I downloaded the Japanese version of it and patched it so I could appreciate the full game and the story it had to tell which got cut in the European version. Am hyped for this new instalment and was wondering if they were using UE5 based on the graphics but it looks like they're using an in-house engine this time. Either way looks like it's gonna be another big hit

I really hope it'll live up to the wait.

Also does it mean we will have a few mission as a WSO? That'd be interesting

Any chance of VR?

Okay I am adding my nerding time. The Ship seems to be modeled after USS Oriskany with SCB-27/SCB-125A refit.

[–] heythatsprettygood@feddit.uk 1 points 19 hours ago

From what I have heard, it is most likely the USS Hornet (CV-12, the museum ship, not CV-8), as Project Aces used it for 3D scans before the trailer came out. In addition, the museum staff sent out this tweet after the trailer came out:

I know it won't happen, but I would kill for a mission editor in AC8
