*Searches how old Chipotle is*

Chipotle Mexican Grill was founded in 1993, making it 32 years old as of December 2025

Oh wow! Thomas Paine was alive in my lifetime!?

;D lol.

Chipotle has also outlived the Confederacy.

Officially, maybe - yet the mindset still not only prevails to this day, but actually seems to be growing again.

Yeah I think the real question is: will the stains of the Confederacy outlast the chipotle stains in my underwear.

[–] prettybunnys@piefed.social 7 points 2 days ago

I can assure you I will forever hold the stains in your underwear in higher esteem than the stains of the confederacy, so there is that.

Okay? It's a commercial building and always has been. I'm glad that there's a business in there and that it's not draining taxes or just being left to rot. It's serving the community, which is what buildings are there for.

Yes. How dare they poke fun at a building! I mean, c'mon next thing you know people will be trying to inject a little humor into their daily life. But we all know we must suffer, all the time!

But, seriously dude, I think you need to chill...

I guess he, and also me, did not get the joke.

[–] Zorque@lemmy.world 5 points 2 days ago

The building looks old, despite being a modern chain.

I'm sorry, I just don't see it as a crisis or humor. If anything, I see it as proof that America's communities are still strong.

"the American crisis" is a later series of pamphlets by paine.

I much prefer this architecture as opposed to the cheapest walls possible in most modern US buildings.
