Not the only one, or the only time.
Turns out when you're rich and powerful, you can get away with anything.
Grab 'em by the fishing boat. When you're America, they just let you do it.
Go Kelly, go. Especially on the accountability.
POTUS material
Wouldn't go that far he still part of the DNC, but if he ran I vote him. He be better than Newsome.
Cabinet then
The top cabinet members were under oath at their confirmation hearings too. Didn't stop any of them from lying their asses off with impunity.
If you're part of the fascist ruling class, false testimony isn't a crime; it's a prerequisite for the job.
Unjustifiably murdering everybody on the boat with one shot is just fine, but having to use two is going too far for these senators or what??? America is clearly never going to recover it's reputation ^(citation needed)^ or influence after this administration. Perhaps it's best for countries that were dependant on the U.S. for certain purposes to cut ties with such a deranged country and band together to soften the blow. You don't need the liability.

While you DO have a valid point, repeating the attack shows the intentionality much more clearly.
Accidentally shooting at a civilian target once is (divorced from the context) somewhat plausible, but doing it again shows that you likely did it on purpose, which is MUCH worse from a legal standpoint. Its basically the difference between premeditated murder and involuntary manslaughter/whatever it's called when the government does it.

DEFINITELY. Some are already doing that, but it's been WAY overdue for decades. Most of the world being dependent and/or cowed by the US is THE main reason why it's been getting away with committing war crimes and other human rights violations for generations.
Unjustifiably murdering everybody on the boat with one shot is just fine
I’ll preface my comment by saying I don’t believe shit the administration is saying.
With that said, the stated purpose of the attack is to stop a drug smuggling boat. Now, if you believe what they say, the first attack did exactly this. Any further attack is just for murder and coverups.
They’re allowed to destroy a drug smuggling boat. The are not allowed to murder and cover up.
To me, the only reason you murder the survivors is to ensure their true purpose (fisherman) doesn’t get exposed.
America is clearly never going to recover it's reputation ^(citation needed)^ or influence after this administration.
America has been doing awful shit for much longer than Trump unfortunately.
It is illegal to drone strike anyone who is only suspected of a crime. Especially in international or Venezuelan waters. Drug smuggling is not a crime that carries the death sentence in the US either.
Yeah, 100% agree. Honestly, I’m glad that there’s movement at all on this.
They'll happily lie under oath. Even bold-faced, immediately apparent lies. Because the perjury charge will come with an immediate pardon from Trump. They've allowed autocracy to overwhelm all checks and balances and refuse to use their power to overrule it. This is the cost.
We very nicely ask notorious liars not to lie this time. Surely, that will help
Lol oath
Spoiler alert…. They don’t give a fuck.
what will actually happen: they wont show up, then nothing
Well now I just have to disagree there. I think some of them will show up... and then nothing will happen.
Other than leaving a record for future generations, what are the possible products of this investigation? Impeach Hegseth or whoever gave the order?
I don’t want to be a downer, but this administration has no shame. No one is going to resign unless Donnie thinks they make him look ~~bad~~ weak. It’s practically a given that this administration’s DOJ isn’t going to prosecute anyone for contempt of congress, or perjury, or war crimes in service of the executive branch (assuming that whoever doesn’t get straight up pardoned first). They’ll cry “witch hunt” for the nth time, the maga crowd will eat it up, and no one’s mind will change until such time comes when this administration is only a memory.
Fuck me this feels bleak. Maybe I need to see a therapist.
Just like the no kings protests and the people standing up to ICE raids, it's about using the power you have to say no. He's a senator and he has the power to waste their time and make them sit in a place they don't want to be. It's not much, it's probably not enough, but not doing anything is worse.
“I do not recall…”
Surely the orange man will never wriggle out of this one.
Trump: "Execute Mark Kelly!"
Kelly: "Try me."
Hope he comes through!
I actually just recently donated to him here.
I actually just recently donated to him
You REALLY shouldn't, unless you're ok with supporting genocide
I know that I'm probably going to be downvoted to hell for having the temerity to hold a Democrat establishment politician accountable on .world, but SURELY "don't donate to the people AIPAC are legally bribing" should be an acceptable standard regardless of whether or not you hold your nose and vote for them when there isn't any better alternative candidate available?
He's also a piece of shit on immigration issues, the country would definitely be a better place if he got primaried
Got it. I'm just donating to anyone willing to publicly stand up to the administration right now and he hasn't backed down. I'm sure he and many others are receiving threats from both current administration and MAGATS alike. Besides protesting, I felt like it's my way of showing support. Like hey, we may disagree on a lot of other issues but I am in support of what you are doing right now. Our democracy is no longer a democracy and we need more allies fighting back against fascism. Most of the Democratic establishment is doing jack shit right now. Let's support people that do have a backbone and continue to push and criticize those that do not. That's my take on it
Reverse Uno
How many Republicans have probably lied to ~~confess~~ congress in the past two years or so? The number is larger than a dozen. Zero consequences means it doesn’t matter.
I’m assuming you meant congress and not confess?
