In case you're serious; "white".

I didn't understand that either, so I'd say the parent commentor was serious

[–] 14th_cylon@lemmy.zip 36 points 1 day ago (1 children)

why is it spelled like that?

[–] passenger@sopuli.xyz 24 points 1 day ago (1 children)

I guess to avoid algorithms hiding the post?

[–] 14th_cylon@lemmy.zip 11 points 1 day ago

oh. makes sense

[–] Gladaed@feddit.org 24 points 21 hours ago (2 children)

Ok. Nobody abbreviates like that. Why so condescending.

Also what happened in 2017 that was exceptional? I feel like white supremacists have been on a steady roll.

[–] anomnom@sh.itjust.works 10 points 19 hours ago

2017, Charlottesville tikitorch parade and one of the Nazis killed a counter protester with his car.

Trump said the white power guys were good people.

[–] Imhotep@lemmy.world 4 points 21 hours ago

Some black people do use it.
Some say it's derogatory, other say it isn't. I have never seen it used in a positive way.

You forgot "Grab 'em by the pussy"

[–] grue@lemmy.world 42 points 1 day ago (1 children)

And violating the Emoluments Clause.

[–] Knock_Knock_Lemmy_In@lemmy.world 19 points 23 hours ago (1 children)

The rest of the list are not slam dunk charges against being president, but violation of emoluments is. I don't understand how Trump is still in power.

[–] tinyvoltron@discuss.online 3 points 16 hours ago (1 children)

Doesn't matter which ones are illegal or indictable. It's about decency. Most of these just prove he is a horrible human being that shouldn't be able to win any election anywhere.

His political career should have been over about 10 minutes after it started. Just proves how many Americans are horrible human beings. And I say that as an American. We've lost our way.

Which was the earliest one of them all. It was before the election in 2016. When his supporters doubled down on it, and some of his female cultists began wearing "Trump can grab me by the pussy" t-shirts, then that was when I started realising that this was something quite different which didn't work by the normal rules.

[–] ininewcrow@lemmy.ca 57 points 1 day ago (2 children)

At this point, I'm not blaming this orange blob completely.

Part of the blame is the American people who just accept all this as normal.

[–] 18107@aussie.zone 37 points 1 day ago

Most of the blame should be on the heritage foundation who is coordinating all of this.

[–] JasonDJ@lemmy.zip 4 points 18 hours ago

Not for nothing, but as abnormal as this is, it's all working within the system. Or, at least, the system is complicit.

[–] cannedtuna@lemmy.world 40 points 1 day ago

Shit before 2016 it should have been over. The writing was on the wall even then and people thought we were being melodramatic or reactionary.

https://www.villagevoice.com/beware-when-three-fat-guys-from-the-trump-organization-knock-on-your-door/

You have to go even further back to 1980 when Chump, as a landlord in NYC, evicted a 74 year old widowed stroke victim by sending tough guys to her apartment. They came in and took her stuff and kicked her out. He's heartless.

[–] MystikIncarnate@lemmy.ca 31 points 18 hours ago

The list is much much longer than this.

are we just not talking about child rape?

[–] 14th_cylon@lemmy.zip 12 points 1 day ago (1 children)

the chid rape is still in the area of heresay, while all the mentioned are proven facts.

Documented Allegations & Evidence

1. The “Jane Doe” / Katie Johnson Lawsuit (1994 allegations, 2016 lawsuit)

What was alleged: A woman using pseudonyms filed civil lawsuits in 2016 claiming Trump and Jeffrey Epstein raped her repeatedly in 1994 when she was 13 years old at Epstein’s Manhattan residence. The complaint claimed Trump tied her to a bed, forcibly raped her, and slapped her when she asked him to stop.

Supporting documents:

  • A sworn declaration exists in court records detailing the allegations
  • A second declaration was signed by “Tiffany Doe,” who claimed she was hired by Epstein to recruit adolescent women to attend his parties

What happened to the case:

  • A judge dismissed the initial California case in May 2016, ruling the complaint didn’t raise valid claims under federal law
  • The lawsuit was refiled in New York, then withdrawn in November 2016
  • Her lawyers cited death threats and safety concerns as reasons for withdrawal
  • The woman hasn’t been heard from publicly since

Credibility concerns:

  • Snopes and other fact-checkers traced the case’s promotion to Norm Lubow, a former “Jerry Springer Show” producer using the false name “Al Taylor,” who confirmed to Snopes he played a role in filing and promoting the claims
  • The case was never adjudicated on its merits—the allegations remain unproven in court

What’s documented:

  • Recently released Epstein emails show that in April 2016, Epstein forwarded a reporter’s request about Katie Johnson’s lawsuit to associates, writing “nuts but I thought you guys should know” to Trump campaign adviser Tom Barrack —showing Epstein was aware of the allegations

2. Miss Teen USA Dressing Room Allegations (1997)

What was alleged: Multiple former Miss Teen USA contestants allege Trump walked into their dressing room at the 1997 pageant while girls as young as 15 were changing

Named accuser: Mariah Billado, Miss Teen Vermont 1997, told BuzzFeed: “I remember putting on my dress really quick because I was like, ‘Oh my god, there’s a man in here.’”

Corroboration: Three other teenage contestants from the same year confirmed the story to BuzzFeed (they asked to remain anonymous)

Billado said she told Ivanka Trump about it, and Ivanka responded, “Yeah, he does that.”

Trump’s own statements: In a 2005 Howard Stern interview, Trump admitted to walking into dressing rooms at pageants he owned, saying he could “get away with things like that” as the owner. However, in that specific quote, he was discussing Miss USA and Miss Universe (adult contestants), not Miss Teen USA

Denials: Trump’s spokesperson denied all the allegations in 2016, calling them attacks “magically put out there in the final month of a presidential campaign”

Counter-evidence: Eleven other 1997 contestants said they didn’t recall Trump entering the dressing room, though some said it was possible it happened when they weren’t in the room

3. What Does NOT Have Evidence

Social media memes claiming Trump paid settlements to multiple named child victims (listing specific names, locations, and dollar amounts) originated from a subscription-only blog post by a conspiracy theorist with a history of false claims. There is no evidence whatsoever for these claims outside “toxic online conspiracy circles.”

Summary Assessment

Category Status
Jane Doe/Katie Johnson lawsuit Allegations filed in court with sworn declarations; case dismissed/withdrawn; never adjudicated on merits; serious credibility questions about promoters
Miss Teen USA dressing room Multiple named and anonymous accusers; corroborated by Trump’s general admission about pageant behavior; disputed by other contestants; denied by Trump
Multiple child settlement claims No credible evidence—debunked conspiracy theory

The honest answer: There is one civil lawsuit alleging child rape (the Jane Doe case), but it was withdrawn before any evidence could be tested in court, and the case has significant credibility issues related to how it was promoted. There are corroborated accounts of Trump entering a teen dressing room, but that’s distinct from rape. There is no proven, adjudicated evidence of Trump raping children.

jeez. that's a lot of ai slop just to say "you were right".

and to make things clear, i am absolutely not defending orange cheeto, i am saying it is useful to focus on a stuff that is clearly proven. because once you start including "maybe" accusations into your list, it is easy to discredit your criticism.

[–] explodicle@sh.itjust.works 20 points 18 hours ago (1 children)

Never forgive Republican voters. There are no good ones, they aren't friends, they aren't family. I'd say they were dead to me if they weren't already something worse than dead. They're fascists.

[–] TheOneCurly@feddit.online 8 points 16 hours ago

Yeah there was some dude on npr the other day talking about how he finally "left maga" and he regrets stuff now. But like you were a full adult and loving this shit. I'm sure he's fed up with trump specifically but I also think he'll get right on board with the next big bully asshole because that's actually who he is.

[–] Doomsider@lemmy.world 17 points 17 hours ago

What is so bizarre is you could make a list ten times as long and still only be scratching the surface.

Being such a spectacularly unsuccessful businessesman that he made a casino go bankrupt (seriously that is some impressive levels of incompetence)

Americans when asked to choose between a woman and trump:

"Holy fucking shit guys, this is an impossible choice between two evils"

[–] DeathByBigSad@sh.itjust.works 15 points 14 hours ago

Americans chose a woman in 2016, the archaic election system said no.

[–] But_my_mom_says_im_cool@lemmy.world 7 points 11 hours ago (1 children)

It’s crazy that even in 2025 im still seeing the “both sides are the same” and “voting for democrats is worse than voting trump” type posts on Lemmy. Americans are dumb

The quiet piggy one was awful, especially after I saw the wide shot at how close his finger was to her face.

The craziest thing is this fat slob calling someone else a piggy

Every accusation in this administration is an admission.

Any of them.

…but Kamala

Muricans really stepped on it this time, and the really worrisome part is that they have not even reached the point of acknowledging they made a mistake… it's always someone else's fault
