There it is: Ratner, with sexual assaults allegations, directed a $40 million documentary about Melania. So Trump wants him to be able to make Rush Hour 4.

Again, the rapist is helping out his own kind.

Straight corruption.

New community idea: "Is it Onion?" Where you post an article title and the community has to guess if it's an Onion article or not.

[–] Makeitstop@lemmy.world 24 points 4 days ago* (last edited 4 days ago)

Everyday that I look at the feed I am reminded of the old /r/theonion + /r/nottheonion feed I used to love back in the day. The guessing game got less fun when it took over all the news.

[–] Kolanaki@pawb.social 14 points 4 days ago (1 children)

Have to just post the text or headline without an actual link to the article, since that would give it away.

[–] ElfBean@fedia.io 18 points 4 days ago

Could always put the link under a spoiler though, right?

[–] ininewcrow@lemmy.ca 14 points 4 days ago (1 children)

Isn't that just the modern American news media landscape?

That's just a reflection of modern america.

[–] mikenurre@lemmy.world 40 points 4 days ago (2 children)

White House backing another sexual predator. I so sick of this timeline.

[–] drzoidberg@lemmy.world 19 points 4 days ago (1 children)

I'm actually looking forward to this absolutely bombing, the likes of which would make Tron Ares, Morbius (both releases), and that Spider-Man Movie without Spider-Man, seem like blockbusters.

[–] MimicJar@lemmy.world 4 points 4 days ago (2 children)

that Spider-Man Movie without Spider-Man

Which one?

I know you mean Madam Web, and you already said Morbius, but Kraven the Hunter would also fit. Also technically the three Venom films, but those didn't bomb (but the third did poorly).

[–] drzoidberg@lemmy.world 4 points 4 days ago (2 children)

Yeah Madam Web. I kept getting stuck on Black Widow but I knew it wasn't that lol.

There was a Kraven movie?

[–] harrys_balzac@lemmy.dbzer0.com 3 points 4 days ago (2 children)

Yes, there was a Kraven movie. I made it through about 25 minutes of it. Ten minutes longer than Borderlands. I actually watched all of Madam Web. I am still not sure how that happened.

[–] MimicJar@lemmy.world 3 points 4 days ago (2 children)

Honestly I thought the Kraven film was the best after Venom and Venom 2. If it had come out right after Venom the whole Spider-Man minus Spider-Man films would have been on better ground. Morbius was terrible and then Madam Web killed any good faith anyone might have had left. By the time Kraven was out everyone had, rightly, given up.

(If you've never watched any of these films, this is not an endorsement.)

[–] drzoidberg@lemmy.world 3 points 3 days ago (1 children)

I tried to think really hard about if I saw the Kraven movie, and the only thing I got was the plot for Spider-Man 2, and I know that wasn't it cause that was a decent plot-line.

I'm gonna have to pirate this out of morbid curiosity. Like that time I watched the 2 girls 1 cup video, which I still would recommend over Madame Web and Morbius.

Do you mean the newest Spider-Man game? It's a decent storyline, probably better than the movie. He's a little annoying with his death wish, and also how beating him 3 goddamn times in a boss battle doesn't even put a scratch on him.

[–] Auli@lemmy.ca 2 points 2 days ago

I "watched" Morbious in the background and could tell you a rough outline but Kraven I could not even do that. Had to turn it off.

[–] RampantParanoia2365@lemmy.world 2 points 2 days ago* (last edited 2 days ago)

Probably Sydney Sweeney is how you managed Madame Webb.

[–] Auli@lemmy.ca 1 points 2 days ago

Black Widow did decent for a COVID movie.

[–] FreshParsnip@lemmy.ca 2 points 4 days ago (1 children)

Technically Peter Parker is in Madame Web, but he's a newborn baby

[–] MimicJar@lemmy.world 3 points 4 days ago

Isn't it a baby named Peter P(balloon pop)?

[–] Raiderkev@lemmy.world 2 points 4 days ago (1 children)

Who's a sexual predator in the rush hour series?

[–] idiomaddict@lemmy.world 5 points 4 days ago

The director

[–] Bonesince1997@lemmy.world 23 points 4 days ago

Rush Hour 4

[–] danc4498@lemmy.world 20 points 4 days ago

A real billionaire would have bought the rights and produced it themselves. See also The Expanse.

[–] falseWhite@lemmy.world 15 points 4 days ago (1 children)

Sigh. Adding Warner Bros. Discovery to my ever growing boycott list.

Rush Hour 4

[–] 4am@lemmy.zip 13 points 4 days ago

Didn’t he just tear down the White House movie theater? Fuck does he care about movies?

Holy shit, raw story is unusable without some sort of ad block. I really need to figure out a travel pihole or something.

Firefox on Android atleast supports uBlock Origin.

[–] vegeta@lemmy.world 5 points 4 days ago

I use piHole over Wireguard VPN for mobile

I just do not like Chris Tucker. Like, at all. I just don't get the appeal.

I hated his character in Fifth Element. Just the worst. Ruined the movie for me.

I remember watching the Rifftrax version of Fifth Element and laughing at how they groaned at his parts, LOL. I could not agree more. I don't know if it's possible to make a cut that excludes him, but I'd sure like to see that...

Anyway, I didn't even know they made three Rush Hours already. Clearly, I'm not the target demo for this franchise. If the world has a fourth, I guess I'll care about it as much as I cared about the first three, LOL.

[–] MagicShel@lemmy.zip 12 points 4 days ago (1 children)

He is completely fucking annoying, and I have refused to watch him in anything else, but somehow Ruby Rhod just works for me. With all the ridiculous stuff in that movie, he feels right at home.

[–] BranBucket@lemmy.world 6 points 3 days ago

It's a scenario where Tucker's main schtick makes sense in context. Ruby Rhod is basically Space Tucker with a gossip podcast, and his hyper-annoying behavior serves to illustrate how different he, the other passengers, and celebrity obsessed people in that universe are from Corbin's grounded and sane everyman character.

Can he lift his fist higher? I feel like I need to honk my horn every time I see that gestured pose.

[–] Auli@lemmy.ca 2 points 2 days ago

How Jackie is 71 don't see him doing to many stunts.
