"My side fucked me, so I won't vote for anyone for a couple of years. That'll learn 'em."

Focusing on cannabis since the guy is complaining about his hemp farm.

The Democrats here in Ohio have done fuck all to protect the decriminalized cannabis that we voted in support of by 60% back in 2023 (same with abortion the same day). Republicans immediatly set to work to limit home growth and how much you can buy. Did the Democrats run ads in Ohio about how they were going to protect our right to grow and consume cannabis? Did they talk about how Republicans were going to roll back the provisions we all agreed on? No. They ran ads about how they were going to help Trump hurt trans kids and "secure the border" here in Ohio. The Democrats and Republicans have lost all credibility with everyone that isn't a die-hard supporter of the parties. People stop voting when they feel like neither party cares about their interests.

[–] Heavybell@lemmy.world 28 points 2 days ago (2 children)

Yeah, I keep hearing about how useless the dems are. I dunno what you guys can possibly do to fix things over there tbh. So I understand feeling hopeless.

[–] tempest@lemmy.ca 24 points 2 days ago (3 children)

Americans are odd. They complain about "both sides" but a lot of them don't participate in primary elections.

There are definitely problems with the way the parties pick candidates but the primary is by far the more important election for those that consistently vote for the same party.

[–] BakerBagel@midwest.social 12 points 2 days ago (2 children)

It's a Charlie Brown and the football situation. You can only fall for the same bait and switch so many times before you just give up. In a democracy it leads to voter apathy. And primaries are poorly run. If it isn't a prominent one, you likely won't find much information on the candidates prior to the primary election, and for the president, they sre pretty much decided by 4th one so if you're state does a later primary, chances are that your preferred candidate has already dropped out by the time you can actually vote for them.

These people have been so brain broken that they will never vote for anyone with a 'D' next to their name.

This person doesn't even need to mention it, it's just a given that he will go right to not voting (which I'll take as a win).

[–] KindnessIsPunk@lemmy.ca 16 points 2 days ago (1 children)

I mean this was the unironic sentiment around here in the months leading up to the 2024 election.

I love how the only option in his mind is to not vote in the future. Not trying to find the party that represents him, or vote for the other party that protects his views, but just give up entirely on democracy cause of one issue.

He is a weak person, a weak american, and is one of the problems with this country.

Aww. You mean the conman affected you personally? What kind of vile person hopes that the conman will fuck everyone else except them. Ugh. Fuck this shit

[–] Mac@mander.xyz 85 points 2 days ago (1 children)

I will not be voting

Most intelligent Republican lmao

[–] TrickDacy@lemmy.world 16 points 2 days ago

Well, of course they couldn't try to stop this in the future. Best we can hope for is them to pretend not to support it, briefly. This dipshit will vote republican in perpetuity

[–] gmtom@lemmy.world 81 points 2 days ago (2 children)

But the thing is he will totally vote in 2028.

He will either have simply forgotten, or the republicans will have fabricated some new crisis by then and he will tell himself "well I have to vote or the democrats will force everyone to be non binary and polyamorous!!!"

Its win win for the Goofy Old Phuckers. This ignorant(?) fool votes for his golden calf. Gets mad because that calf fucks him up. His solution is to not vote. Not to vote out the people that screwed him over but just not vote. So is it ignorance or stupidity.

I say why not both.

[–] P1k1e@lemmy.world 60 points 2 days ago (1 children)

Notice he's not mad about anything else? This dude loves the GOP, just mad they screwed him over. He'll vote for em again the moment they promise to kill 20 browns, Jews or gays

[–] tempest@lemmy.ca 24 points 2 days ago

Most people have surprisingly short memories. Despite what he says he will likely vote for them again because Fox News or Rogan or whatever will wind him up about something and that will be top of mind.

[–] Blumpkinhead@lemmy.world 15 points 2 days ago (2 children)

I'm so disgusted that these people have the gall to call themselves patriots.

[–] TrickDacy@lemmy.world 16 points 2 days ago (2 children)

They've redefined the term patriot in my head to mean "racist traitor"

People who have to call themselves patriots, are not patriots.

Translation: "The government I voted for on the promise of hurting other people ended up hurting me as well so as a consequence I'm going to abstain from any collective decision making for the foreseeable future, that'll show 'em!

The crazy thing about this piece of shit, is that he has so much hate for marginalized people, that even though he is actively being fucked by what he voted for, he can't even bring himself to lying and saying that he will vote for the opposing party, and of course in reality will continue to vote for fucking himself because he hopes it fucks the marginalized more.

They really think they will ever vote again 🤣

[–] SaharaMaleikuhm@feddit.org 12 points 2 days ago

I mean even in Russia they can vote. It's just a meaningless facade.

These people are racist goldfish. As soon as the GOP dangles keys in his face again he'll believe everything they say.

What are the odds that THIS post isn't fake?

[–] glimse@lemmy.world 42 points 2 days ago (3 children)

I stopped caring after scrolling for a bit but I can confirm he is definitely having a meltdown and has claimed multiple times he won't be voting

This Evan person is very special.

[–] glimse@lemmy.world 19 points 2 days ago (4 children)

Really the only thing that makes him special is that he finally recognizes the grift. He's otherwise a run-of-the-mill (ex-)MAGA influencer

Lol. Good.

The less money this freak and his family have, the less money they can donate to child rapists and child rapist enablers.

Bonus points for this dipshit admitting he'll not vote instead of voting for anyone other than Republicans.

LOOOOOOOOOOOSER!!!!!!!

[–] Lemminary@lemmy.world 14 points 1 day ago (1 children)

You'll be lucky to be voting, Evan.

[–] samus12345@sh.itjust.works 9 points 1 day ago
