Clergy are a line almost nobody wants to cross since they’re passive and have sacrificed a lot to prove that. We need to hold offenders accountable, including any politician that shields their obviously abusive behavior. Absolutely disgusting and further evidence of the erosion of 1st Amendment rights.

Mike Johnson, as an American evangelical protestant, almost certainly believes that the Catholic Church is the embodiment of the Beast from revelations, and could not care less about Catholic priests in a protest line.

"Yes they're definitely The Beast" (proceeds to speedrun lots of anti-Christ activities)

Every accusation from these types really is a confession, isn't it? Lol

Grew up in that. Did not believe that.

Sorry, the guy above you forgot to capitalize American Evangelical, which is rapidly becoming its own denomination. Evangelical churches are all rapidly having to change tack to more and more extreme messaging just to keep congregants, because large portions of the faith want us to go back to Cotton Mather's fire and brimstone God. Evangelical influencers are largely driving this through social media, which feeds back into a loop that wants you to get more and more extreme.

American Evangelicalism isn't about God, Christ, or anything other that justifying hatred towards nonwhites, LGBT people, and anyone to the left of George W Bush. The Bible is convenient window dressing.

Yeah passively protecting pedophiles.

Yes, please make an enemy of the Catholic church. Tackle a bishop. Make Chicago pope do something.

The Catholic and Mormon Churches manage more assets than Blackrock.

"Tell me, how many divisions has the Pope?"

What bothers me the most here is fuckfaces like Johnson have never been on the receiving end of this kind of treatment. I can't say he would change his tune, but i suspect he may not go to such lengths to defend these assholes brutalizing peaceful protestors. His only attempt at empathy is to feel bad for the troops that are 'just trying to do their job'...

“How would you like to do that job, if you had to put on the badge and do it when you know you have the media criticizing your every move and you have wild protesters in your face cursing at you, waving their finger in your face and sometimes pushing and assaulting you?” the House speaker asked. “Thank the Lord that there are people who are willing to do that difficult job.”

If you take on a job that requires you to be a shitty person, you're a shitty person. I would rather go homeless than terrorize and brutalize people for a living.

He has a humilliation fetish and likes being overpowered by strong men. He's loving this.
