A week ago, the Cuomo campaign released a long, racist video depicting criminals endorsing Mamdani. Critics called the ad racist. The campaign deleted it shortly after it was posted and blamed the whole thing on a junior staffer.

Saw an article about how conservatives and even trump are "advising" Cuomo...

And it's super obvious.

Cuomo and the neoliberal are so out of touch with Dem voters, they still think what works on MAGA works on us. Because to someone from the generational wealth/power as Cuomo...

We are the same to them. We're poor and low class and they've been so segregated from the common people we're just one out-group to them.

Nothing matters except we don't have wealth.

We need to start treating economic bigotry as a real thing, the wealthy have for centuries.

My first thought, too, was "That's an odd choice of wording", but... it's exactly what it sounds like.

[...]But when the bill stands it looks positively inflated, almost as if the video generator used to make Cuomo’s ad was trained on MPREG fetish art of the bill and not the original cartoon itself. The thick and luscious red lips are present whether the bill is leaning or standing.

Towards the end of the ad, an anthropomorphic phone with a ChatGPT logo wanders into the scene. Standing next to the pregnant bill, I could not but help but think that the phone is the father of whatever child the bill carried.

My observation led to an argument in the 404 Media Slack channel and opinions were split. “It does not seem pregnant to me,” said Emanuel Maiberg.

Jason Koebler, however, came to my defense. He circled the pregnant belly of the cartoon bill and shared it. “Baby is stored in the circle area,” he said.

But, it's not male. The bill is clearly wearing lipstick...

Ahahahaaaa hey let me take you to a bar downtown, I promise it'll be educational.

I know about trans people and cross-dressers. But, in a political cartoon, with characters that are light on details, artists (or AI in this case) will use easily-identifiable, stereotypical signs to showcase a trait or gender. For example, lipstick, or a bow, or a dress or skirt, to identify a character as female.

We all know this and are exposed to this pattern all the time. Or are you seriously suggesting that the bill is trans, but is somehow also pregnant?

ಠ - ಠ

Uhhh... Once again, weirdest timeline 😅

Best part of the article:

collapsed inline media

I first read this as MPEG and thought they were talking about the video encoding.

I wish they were talking about the video encoding.

It reminds me of Ben Garrison's hornyposting about AOC. Calling him stupid without really elaborating, trying to shame him based on his previous job, and so on.

Yeah he's been doing that a lot. May he rest in piss.

[–] archonet@lemy.lol 22 points 1 day ago

Well, that's a brand new sentence.

That was so weird to watch.

The article references two videos; the AI MPREG Schoolhouse Rock Bill:
https://nitter.privacyredirect.com/andrewcuomo/status/1983919479936409617?
where ~~the worst~~ one particularly ridiculous thing (apart from the obvious) is the totally unironical ChatGPT impersonation. It says "It's true" unironically. Really, this video wants its watchers to ask ChatGPT how competent Mamdani is. It's not an oracle ffs. It's not real!
The other video:
https://nitter.privacyredirect.com/prem_thakker/status/1981150231174746370? They took that one down because of racism.

But really, both videos are total trash both technically and content wise. People should be outraged that their taxes are being wasted to produce this slop (to quote one of the vids).

[–] glimse@lemmy.world 5 points 1 day ago

You think the worst part about the video is that chatgpt said "it's true"?

[–] Taldan@lemmy.world 3 points 1 day ago

I think the part that bothers me the most is the fact Cuomo apparently paid for that slop?

[–] Pandantic@midwest.social 2 points 6 hours ago

Wow, that first one was so bad. Like every part about it was bad. I am surprised anyone “paid” for it to run anywhere.

[–] MiddleAgesModem@lemmy.world 17 points 1 day ago (2 children)

Didn't Mamdani already beat Cuomo?

Mamdani beat Cuomo for the Democratic nomination, but because of the way New York elections work, Cuomo was able to keep running as the candidate of another party, which he founded specifically for this election.

[–] village604@adultswim.fan 12 points 1 day ago

Just in the primaries. Iirc Cuomo switched parties.

[–] homesweethomeMrL@lemmy.world 15 points 1 day ago (2 children)

[–] ImADifferentBird@lemmy.blahaj.zone 19 points 1 day ago* (last edited 1 day ago) (1 children)

You asked...

Tap if you really want to know.MPreg = male pregnancy. It's a fairly popular fetish in the dark corners of the internet.

I like my acronym better

Truly a terrible day to have eyes

[–] ILikeBoobies@lemmy.ca 7 points 1 day ago

I can’t believe it actually sourced “chatgpt” for a fact it claimed.

[–] Krauerking@lemy.lol 7 points 17 hours ago

Oh good.

I saw this elsewhere and had to double check it was posted here.
That headline is insane to comprehend even just a couple years ago.

[–] pastermil@sh.itjust.works 4 points 11 hours ago

This means he's losing.
