✅ Billion dollar ballroom

❌ Feeding the right wing welfare states.

Democrat lawmakers should be parading pictures and models of this ballroom around to town halls and meetings with their constituency. Literally, right now, every single Dem congressman and congresswoman needs to be capitalizing on this shutdown and extravagant vanity project for the spectacle it is.

THIS is the exact kind of thing that you can fashion a vicious, political narrative from. If we lived in a sane, just world we would see every Democrat in Washington touring the country right now, working through the shutdown to show voters what's being done with their money.

Somehow I think Israel wouldn't approve so they don't have permission.

It's only the states that actually contribute to the GDP in a meaningful way and give a shit about their people.

They're the best States. Nobody sues like these States. They've got the best lawyers, and it's going to be a great case. A case like you would not believe. In fact I think the courts should just give up right now and let these States win the case. Everyone's saying the judge should just decide the case, let them win, and walk away. That's how good these States are.

Is your state among them? Yeah - you know.

[–] BetaBlake@lemmy.world 4 points 2 days ago

Nope it sure isn't, and my state will be one that suffers the most from the lack of assistance.

"Cut off your nose to spite your face" and whatnot

It's not surprising me now...
