Welcome to the discussion of US Politics!

Rules:

  1. Post only links to articles, Title must fairly describe link contents. If your title differs from the site’s, it should only be to add context or be more descriptive. Do not post entire articles in the body or in the comments.

Links must be to the original source, not an aggregator like Google Amp, MSN, or Yahoo.

Example:

  1. Articles must be relevant to politics. Links must be to quality and original content. Articles should be worth reading. Clickbait, stub articles, and rehosted or stolen content are not allowed. Check your source for Reliability and Bias here.
  2. Be civil, No violations of TOS. It’s OK to say the subject of an article is behaving like a (pejorative, pejorative). It’s NOT OK to say another USER is (pejorative). Strong language is fine, just not directed at other members. Engage in good-faith and with respect! This includes accusing another user of being a bot or paid actor. Trolling is uncivil and is grounds for removal and/or a community ban.
  3. No memes, trolling, or low-effort comments. Reposts, misinformation, off-topic, trolling, or offensive. Similarly, if you see posts along these lines, do not engage. Report them, block them, and live a happier life than they do. We see too many slapfights that boil down to "Mom! He's bugging me!" and "I'm not touching you!" Going forward, slapfights will result in removed comments and temp bans to cool off.
  4. Vote based on comment quality, not agreement. This community aims to foster discussion; please reward people for putting effort into articulating their viewpoint, even if you disagree with it.
  5. No hate speech, slurs, celebrating death, advocating violence, or abusive language. This will result in a ban. Usernames containing racist, or inappropriate slurs will be banned without warning

We ask that the users report any comment or post that violate the rules, to use critical thinking when reading, posting or commenting. Users that post off-topic spam, advocate violence, have multiple comments or posts removed, weaponize reports or violate the code of conduct will be banned.

All posts and comments will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis. This means that some content that violates the rules may be allowed, while other content that does not violate the rules may be removed. The moderators retain the right to remove any content and ban users.

That's all the rules!

Hopefully not a snowball’s chance in hell she wins. She showed her true colours last time, coddling billionaires.

We'll have non biased primary next time...

Kamala has never stood a chance with those.

The big danger is the astroturfing for Newsom and Pritzker. That's where all the billionaires (including pritzker) are sinking their money, hoping to build name recognition early and counting on how ignorant most voters are.

Sadly, it seems to be working

I don't understand how anyone likes newsome, he is just so obviously a gross jerk

$ and billionaire owned media

People love to assume not being a Republican means you can't be grifted. But a shit ton of media just hear CNN call them "fighters" for having PR people along shit on social media while they grab credit for anything positive that happens in their state.

And that builds "name recognition".

If billionaires won't stop telling you how great someone is, they probably suck

TLDR: She didn't actually say that.

[–] sunbrrnslapper@lemmy.world 9 points 3 weeks ago

WHY?!? She was the best positioned anyone could have been AND STILL LOST. Running again would be a terrible use of everyone's time.

[–] xyzzy@lemmy.today 9 points 3 weeks ago

No vision for the future, no reflection or accountability for 2024, just repeating all the same mistakes she made before in her ego-driven quest for self-aggrandizement. Her platform is still, still "I'm not the other guy." Given her categorical inability to listen to people telling her exactly what went wrong, she shouldn't be anywhere near power ever again.

Please, you lost to fucking Donald Trump. You delusional idiot, you couldn't win against a paper bag with a swastika painted on it.

[–] BrokenGlepnir@lemmy.world 7 points 3 weeks ago

She should spend 10 years working for a soup kitchen first to get actually close to the people. Only then should she think about moving onto anything local.

[–] n4ch1sm0@piefed.social 6 points 3 weeks ago

Absolutely not; establishment dems need to fuck right off. Kamala's pitty party book tour going on about "wahh, y'all should've voted for meee, if y'all had voted for meee, we wouldn't be in the fascist hellhole".

Well we all fucking know that, but your brand of politics is weak, and we're all over the neoliberal bullshit.

Honestly, articles about her shouldn't even be gaining traction. She needs to stay irrelevant because she's one of the last people we need being the face of the future democratic party. How about some coverage of anyone else?

[–] Bustedknuckles@lemmy.world 4 points 3 weeks ago

I mean, go ahead? The rat fuckery of the last "primary" has a lot to do with our current administration. I think blame for that rests squarely on Biden and that she would've been a fine president. That said, I'm not sure I'd vote for her in a primary, so I'd much rather she not be anointed by the DNC or major PACs before a fair primary

You lost to a convicted felon with connections to a known pedophile, you think the next candidate will be easier to beat?

[–] Soktopraegaeawayok@lemmy.world 2 points 3 weeks ago

So insufferable...

[–] B3tt3rthanU@lemmy.zip 0 points 3 weeks ago

Bitch nobody wanted you sitting there at all, you were horrible in Ca and you would be even worse for the whole country, your an ignorant cow with shitty ideals
