I admit, even with the scary global crisis potential, it's going to be kind of satisfying.
Glad they pulled those Reagan tariff commercials to appease him. Yet again they fall for his whining bitch-fest and give him what he wants and he does whatever he wants anyway. Stop enabling him.
Bring back the commercials. Bring back the digital services tax.

Doug Ford had some big dick energy planning to run the commercials for months but that spineless oaf backed down at the first sign of resistance.

Canadian made goods are sent to the US under cusma anyways, so they're duty free. This mostly hurts vendors that buy from China and just reship without doing much.
The bigger impact was from them getting rid of their $800 exemption, since now every package gets hit by customs & handling fees.
Not all trade is done under CUSMA
Gotta fund the Jeffrey Epstein Memorial Ballroom in some way during the shutdown.

Our grocery store used to sell avocados from the US and they were $4 each. Today I bought a bag of 5 from Mexico and the bag was only $3.99.
Keep going Trump. I like these cheap Mexican avocados. Without your shenanigans, we'd probably still be stuck with American produce.

US businesses impacted negatively by this will blame Canada, because their God Trump tells them so.

This only effects Canadian products being sold to the U.S.. Companies will raise the price of products, costing not us, but U.S. Americans. Their food banks are already running out in the mornings, he is litterly starving his country. While funneling money towards Argentina, and hurting his own American Farmers.
They already have protests for "No Kings", at this rate their will be a collapse of the country, or a coup.

Canada has higher tariffs then Russia at this point, right?
BC Premier David Eby is preparing a digital ad campaign stating exactly that. Canadian lumber has higher tarrifs than Russian lumber imported into the USA:

I'm not sure what the tarrifs currently are, but I'm not sure this is as dramatic as it sounds.
As an example, if the tarrifs are currently 30%, raising them 10% over and above what they currently are would make them 33%, right? ....right?
