For too long, has outside influence driven our politics. We seek to end Citizens United. The only money in politics should be our own.
The Two Party System, must come to an end. We shall seek to have Ranked Voting in each State of the Union.
We will seek a tax rate of no less, than ninety percent. On the wealthiest in this Country.
Higher taxes on the ultra-wealthy, along with a robust corporate tax reform. Will provide the necessary funds to enhance our existing infrastructure, and new national projects.
Of these projects, are the creation of a High Speed Rail Network, and heavy investments for public sector research into AI and Fusion technologies.
We believe that a strong military is needed for defense. However, wars of aggression and conquest are counter to the peace that we seek.
An educated populace, is a strong populace. We will seek to make higher education, available and free to all People.
We believe that we are a part of this world, and shall seek to restore and maintain our relations with our long term allies.

What would you like to know? The premise is basically the Heritage Foundation of the Left. We infiltrate the Democrat Party, get ranked voting in each state, then burst out of their chest. Then we bully the nazis for all time. If the Right can pull a long con, why can't we?
It should be truth, not a con. If anything can succeed, it must be legitimately founded and won. It must be accepted and embraced. It cannot be a bait and switch.
This country, and the world at large, is under attack by a broad spectrum attack: money in politics, social media brain rot, constant streaming of entertainment to keep us distracted, yearning for more while dangling a carrot on a stick just out of reach... It goes on and on.
The means of success must be true and fully realized or we all lose.
We're well behind the eight ball on this. My gut says it's too late, but my drive keeps me pushing back.
Kill your social media accounts, delete your streaming platforms, don't fall for the dumb distractions like Ghibly avatars, stop supporting the sympathizer corporations. We all need to be better or we all lose together.

Amen brother. I'd even go as far and say we need to ban smart phones. We are not ready for them yet. Evidently.
I've been trying to get my hands on a viable e-ink phone for a while. For now I use GrapheneOS and limit my app installations.
I will be the first to admit that its a hard habit to break, but I'm getting there.
My phone is 10 years old and screams at me every time I "need" to install a new app for some stupid service I want to use. My gym has an app. My public transit. My car. My bank. My boba tea place. I look at it maybe twice a day, to see if my wife wrote anything about some chores I gotta do after work, and to turn off the alarm. Curiously, my circle of friends and friend-interaction has shrunk the more "BETTER CONNECTED (tm)" we became through social media over the years. The better my old group of friends and I became "connected", the more everyone drifted apart.
I have a job requirement to have mine on me. Having two would make it annoying. Your situation is envysome.

I mean it is the truth, but Americans in general are fed so much propaganda that they can't see what's in front of their own eyes.
I'm in the same boat, I expect to meet the Gestapo before any of this can bear fruit. I like to think of a better future though, one that will outlive all of us.

The Justice Democrats, the Working Families Party, and Democratic Socialists of America (DSA) failed at this.
The system changes you; you don't change the system within.
A party that is for the working class must be independent from the duopoly, not within it.
The Tea Party succeeded. The modern GOP has adopted the Tea Party's entire platform. The Tea Party originated within the Republican Party, and changed the system from within.
We desperately need a Guillotine Party to do the same thing for Democrats.
"From within" is the only feasible method currently available to us. The spoiler effect of our FPTP voting system makes external change infeasible.
Can we adopt Guillotine Party for the collective left? Cause that sounds badass.
Seems to me that whatever entity actually manages to politically decapitate the billionaire class has a solid claim to the name.

The system changes you; you don’t change the system within.
And yet the magats did--they completely transformed the republican party--by getting their candidates "within" it. They started with the TEA party which didn't try to get elected running as a 3rd party, which is impossible, but ran as tea party republicans. They made sure there were tea party candidates in every repub primary they could, running to the right of the "mainstream" R candidate. They won many of those primaries simply because it's the activists who turn out for the primaries while most ignore them. Then in the general they won because republicans vote for whoever has the R by their name without thinking about it too much. This moved the R party to the right and drove out R moderates. Yes there were some losses because of the R being too far to the right for the general, but overall it brought the R party to what we see today.

There are many third parties.

I think third parties need to collaborate with each other to bring the working class together.
It won't be easy going against the duopoly; it never is. For example, we would just need to look at the trouble the Green Party has had to go through from past elections.
I would also like to see more third parties in discussions with each other while also going to talk with independent media and with political commentators.
Some of the third parties that are independent from the duopoly are:
- Green Party
- Libertarian Party
- Party for Socialism & Liberation
- American Communist Party (ACP)
It won't be easy going against the duopoly; it never is.
Yes, that's what I mean about getting a toe in the door. So I'm open to running as Dem, but IDK if the party would let that happen either.
AOC and others from the Justice Democrats won seats, so it is feasible.
I see them as a failed experiment that needed to be conducted.

I'd like to see a platform. No bullying. They'll claim it's bullying anyway but no.
We're still working on it, what you read was a first draft. (I just got started 15 days ago) Feel free to drop proposal ideas, we're mostly Democratic Socialists. I went with my personal thoughts on what I'd like to see this grow into. I'm also fully aware that others can do a better job at writing policy. I just want to give people space to organize, and a dream of a better America.
Maybe no taxes below the poverty level, which btw needs serious updating along with minimum wage. No ultrarich or corporate lobbies. Basic necessities are provided to taxpayers, by taxpayers, including a healthy, well-balanced diet, fully funded comprehensive health, utilities including Internet; renewable energy, no corporate or excessive ownership of homes or land, nationalize food, energy, water, education, quality textiles/clothing, I'll think of more. It won't all be immediately doable but we can and should get people everyday necessities.

I don't really know how to say this with any due respect.
If you want to be taken seriously, you need to learn to write at a level that doesn't read like an eighth grader who failed sixth grade English.
One would expect this would be a party that includes well-educated individuals and people who respect well-written platforms. This post isn't what we need.

Hey, before I tear this down and get hated on for it, let me just say that I appreciate your spirit. You are trying to do something, and that alone instantly elevates you above 95% of the rest of the US population.
My opinion on this/your party is that it seems very haphazard. The platform basically describes the Democrats and the DNC, so how is the Bull Moose Party different? Even your more "liberal" demands such as ranked choice voting, abolishing money in politics and corporate tax reforms are all things Democrats every now and then dangle as a carrot in front of us. You now might be tempted to say "Yes, but WE mean it!". I believe you, but that still leaves the question "how"?
How would you stop the "ultra wealthy" from simply leaving the country and taking their businesses and wealth with them after you try to raise their taxes? You can argue that the country doesn't need them, but then how do you pay for the extremely costly policy ideas you describe further down, such as making higher education "free"? How do you build a high speed railway, and how would you convince the individual states to do it? How do you get the land necessary to build this railway? What if it runs through reservations or natural protected areas? And are we not doing very heavy AI research investments already? Who would you give those AI research investments to? Because right now there are only 3 companies in the US with the infrastructure of actually doing that research, and those are: Microsoft, Meta and the company of Elon Musk. All three of those will flee the country if you present them with an increased tax bill, if not send assassins after you.
It's nice that you outright ban "wars of aggression", but no one has ever run on a platform of "let's do more wars". Everyone says they will only "defend" themselves. In fact humanity has never fought a war of simple aggression ever since antiquity. All aggressors insist it's only a defense and noble cause, from Putin, to Bush, to Hitler. To put that in practice, how would you deal with Russia right now if your party was in charge and had full control? You would quickly find that armed conflict is inevitable, and thus you would eventually break your promise of "no wars of aggression" to your constituents.
Even something as straight-forward and morally upright such as "restoring relations with our long term allies" requires at this point a serious explanation HOW the Bull Moose Party would achieve this. No one trusts the US anymore because the government makes a 180 turn every 4 to 8 years. Could you promise other countries the US will never have someone like Trump in charge again? And now that Europe is getting independent and Canada looks to Asia and Europe as well, why would they ever want to come back?
Eh, you get the idea. In short, the platform is too broad, not detailed at all, seems like a daydream and personally I'm missing any creativity and good ideas in there that differentiate you from the DNC. Put in something interesting like "we bring back gladiator arena games to the death and livestream them on Netflix" or "people dressing up as Darth Vader on May 4th get a 1% tax cut next season" (half-joking of course).
Lastly, Discord is trash. You need a viable, respectable forum, that is used by more people than a heavily male skewed early-zoomer audience for gaming and shitposting. Back to the drawing board, write a manifesto on WHAT you want to achieve and HOW you plan on achieving each point and WHY. Refrain from using empty and useless statements such as "we believe in the pursuit of happiness". Elon Musk also believes that, and he pursues his happiness by becoming the Kaiser of the American Reich. I sound harsh and demoralizing, but that's because I like what you are trying to do. If I thought it was shit, I would have just memed on you and moved on instead of writing a blog.
The plan would be to get rid of Citizens United, companies should not be in our politics. So crowd funding candidates, and pulling support for those that won't align.
If they want to leave, let them. America is a free country, or at least it was supposed to be. (I do not care if the rich live or die in general. They feel the same about any non-capitalists.) Most countries won't put up with the manipulation like the US, they wore us down over several decades. Also, I do fully expect them to kill me.
I want that money pumped into Government Labs for research, not into companies. The High-Speed Rail system, would need thought out, also you're not wrong it is a bit hap hazard. I'm currently doing the leg work solo. I need help, I keep screaming into the void. Something has to change, or we will be slaves in all but name.
Some wars are unavoidable, and morally some could even be justified. That part was mostly aimed at Trump threatening historical allies. After establishing ranked voting in each state, I expect the Republican Party will never put a President back into the White House.
I literally started this 15 days ago, this is new and growing. I expect the timeline for the project to stretch into the next several decades, but at least it's something. Not aimed negatively at you, I'm actually really proud of what I've pulled together so far. However, I am but a single bitch lol.

I actually appreciate it, I haven't had anyone critique it yet. I just want to fix things, and this is the only non-violent solution that actually made sense to me.
I admire you and I'm proud of you, stranger. I would love to support this more, but discord is going to turn a lot of people off, especially from this neck of the woods where FOSS is king. Discord is a company, in it for money, if this gains traction, they will sell this out. Start there is my advice, maybe try to recruit another passionate person that has the ability to make a site and others that know the path to make this a legitimate party.
I sincerely hope I see this grow.
I'd like to decentralize as much as possible, also anyone is free to open a space for this movement. Right now I'm just trying to rally all the lost to a cause.
That's good! No seriously, PLEASE start writing a long party manifesto with points you research thoroughly. Start with the topic most dear to you. Then look up why this has not been done yet, if there were previous attempts, why they failed, how they could succeed. Try to think about all other aspects of life a policy you would enact would touch.
For example, could investing more into railways cause a decline in car sales and subsequent loss of jobs? Could you maybe license high-speed rail technology from Japan or China, in exchange for easing of microchip sanctions on them? Things like that.
Do that, and over time you will be a fully aware and engaged citizen, deserving of the title. Even if your new party doesn't work out, you would end up with way more knowledge about good governance than even many in Congress today. No need to scream into the void, people with their heart in the right spot like you are in the majority, not minority. You're not alone.
Also check out your state third parties and see if there is already a party that comes close to what you want for the country. Almost every state has them in some form, but most people don't even know they exist. The Forward Party comes to mind. There's also the "Liberal Party USA", though they are in dire straits.

I just want to note that this is nothing short of capitalist propaganda meant to justify the status quo. What will stop them from leaving is the profitability of doing business in the richest country in the world.

We don't need to tax the wealthy to fund the federal government. We do it to destroy their power.
The federal government is the source of the money, printed ex nihilo (if you think the federal reserve is independent, ask yourself who gave them their charter and who can revoke it). Why would it need someone else's money to function?
I'd highly recommend reading any of the MMT literature so you have an understanding of this.
The left needs to stop fighting in the neoclassical economic framework of the right and re-lens things into reality and away from that deluded ideology.
Love to see this type of left wing movement!
This is a step in that direction. Think of this like a Far Left think tank, slow insidious progress.
The difference is that we actually have empathy, and it's why we will win.

Not to detract from the overall idea, but rather than ranked choice voting you should abolish the electoral college and implement ranked choice voting (or similar, there are many options) for the president and proportional representation for Congress. Aside from just being a better idea, it sounds more dramatic because you get to say "abolish the electoral college", which is better for a fledgeling party trying to attract young people with talent and ambition.

Star or similar voting, proportional representation, abolish the Senate, expand the house, abolish the electoral college, etc. are things I'd like personally. Not sure if I'd prefer parliamentary system over the presidential one.
