After the inverse defense of Russia from Ukraine aggression (the kind of defense where you invade another country that is aggressing you by opposing your invasion), Putin now issues an inverse declaration of war (the kind of declaration of war where you declare someone else is at war with you). What a total buffoon.

After the unsolicited inverse aggression of Poland and Romania placing their airspace in the path of a Russian drone strike on Ukraine, this is the logical next step.
spokesman for Russian President Vladimir President has said.
Sounds like a trusty news source....
Comrade Peskov once more spews a bunch of bullshit, more news at 5 o' clock.
If the headline didn’t end with “Kremlin Says”, I’d be much more concerned.
This is like that one time I got punished for smoking a full year before ever putting a cigarette in my mouth due to ""rumours.""
They have been saying it for 4 years

The thing is that across the web, and including here on Lemmy, there are communities who are literally waiting for such 'news' ...
I've long been torn whether we should just ignore this kind of nonsense or call it out.
For a while I believed in ignoring it but, seeing as people seem unable to learn by themselves (at least, in the small world of my acquaintances), I'm now trying calling it out. If nothing else, this will serve to make me feel like I've done something (not much more I can do, honestly).
Yes, the bullshit, Mr Peskov, the human manure spreader, is spewing, is intended for 1. a domestic audience and 2. for all those Putin bootlickers abroad. It's nothing but propaganda.
Peskov, is Nato at war or is it only "obviously" de facto at war? What is it?
They said the same already in year 2022. And again in 2023.
This keeps declared every 19 months or so.
As declarations of war go it's not much, but it's more then Ukraine got when they occupied Crimea.
What's the point of doing this? Surely they don't really want NATO to join in? Are they just saying it to justify all their losses and that their economy is failing?
It's propaganda aimed at a domestic audience to explain the hardships resulting from the war, and at Putin bootlickers abroad to prop up the innocent victim narrative.
Putin sure is concerned that the Russian people are busy with external enemies.
