Nothing says "real money" like a serial number of "GOLD999999999".

They were just twice as lucky to get the last one ofc.

“If you already had $5,000, why didn’t you just keep it instead of going through all this?”

“…”

They probably bought it for $2000 and thought they were making a profit.

The thing about scamming the stupid is your story doesn't even have to make sense. It's fish in a barrel.

This is the most likely one “we’ll give you a discount and Trump will be good for backing the rest of it. A thank you for supporting him”

“We need $2,000 and in return we’ll give you something worth even more money” but also it’s not even a trade of currency and service but literally money for money.

They probably hoped it would turn into a collectible? I would buy it for $1 for the laughs, but that's about it. It would make a great troll note for monopoly.

I have a roll of toilet paper with his face on each ticket, that roll is worth more (both financially and practically) than that bill is

Please tell me this is fake. Lie to me if necessary, my hope for the future is hanging by a thread.

[–] RedGreenBlue@lemmy.zip 9 points 2 months ago (1 children)

So what is it? Yellow paper with trumps face on it? Where did they get it?

From a scammer :( their reasoning capabilities have been so affected by the last years of politics, that they don’t notice anymore what is a scam and what isn’t. And if this is a scam… maybe the rest might be a scam too? No, that’s taking it too far!

If BoA will cash it, why are you arguing with us? Go cash it at BofA.

If I were the manager, I’d legit offer them $5 for gas money so they could drive to BoA.

I saw some of these at a thrift store once. $1 each. Even at that price, I doubt there were many takers.

That’s what happens when you buy from a serial con man.
