We have to hit them where it hurts - in the pocket.

I think it would be a good idea to Boycott Christmas spending. No gifts, no decoration purchases. Just time spent with friends in family without the commercialism.

No Black Friday or Cyber Monday.

Thoughts?

I have been low key boycotting Black Friday and Cyber Monday since a couple of years. They are the epitome of consumeristic capitalism. They highlight how our whole economic model is unsustainable.

Yes, I am half a step away from a hippy…

I support this fully. I have been trying to cut my spending to food and essentials already. I am down for reduced gifting, or gifting funds or experiences instead of toys and other such crud. I will still be gifting books to everyone though. Always encourage reading. Authors gotta eat too.
