All this fascistizing, Constitution-trampling, deporting and tariffing, and the price of eggs still hasn't come down...

One day, all the motherfuckers who voted Trump will explain to you that they're disappointed, they've been took, this isn't what they voted for, and they're just as much a victim of the fascist US regime as you are. That will be the time to punch them as hard as possible in the fucking face. Because they knew. They all knew.

[–] Wazowski@lemmy.world 19 points 2 months ago

The best time to kick their cunts in was 2015. Today is the next best time.

[–] PostaL@lemmy.world 4 points 2 months ago

They will never admit that. Just punch them...

You’re right about everything except the price of eggs. They’ve definitely come down. They were like $7 for a dozen a few months back.

Edit: what’s the point of downvoting somebody that is stating facts and is not wrong? Is it just to push the facts lower in the thread so fewer people see facts?

[–] TheLowestStone@lemmy.world 10 points 2 months ago (1 children)

And now their $6.75 when they used to be $3. Huge improvement.

What city is this? I checked my receipts when replying to another comment. Here’s my prices for 18 eggs

1 year ago: 3.69

Dec 28th: 4.99

Current: 4.29

[–] Speculater@lemmy.world 3 points 2 months ago (1 children)

Oh damn, I just paid like $8 for a dozen, but I'm living in Hawaii.

[–] danc4498@lemmy.world 0 points 2 months ago (1 children)

Damn… What was it in Feb when it was at the max?

[–] Speculater@lemmy.world 1 points 2 months ago

It's kind of always about $8-9. I think mainland sourced eggs might have went up a little.

[–] Stillwater@sh.itjust.works 7 points 2 months ago (1 children)

Its lower than it was a few months ago but still twice as high as last year

[–] danc4498@lemmy.world 1 points 2 months ago (1 children)

I guess it depends on where you live and all, but in general, you’re probably just wrong. Just checked my Kroger receipt from a year ago and it was $3.69 for 18 eggs. It is currently $4.29 for the same eggs.

As a matter of fact, my receipt from Dec 28th shows prices were 4.99.

There plenty of things you can use to bash Trump on, but eggs aren’t one.

I exaggerated, but according to the BLS:

  • Oct 2023: $2.07
  • Mar 2025: $6.23
  • Jul 2025: $3.60

So they're cheaper than they were at their peak in March but still not "down". I wasn't the one grilling Trump on egg prices, just want to clarify that he certainly hasn't actually lowered them anywhere near where they were. They're still way overpriced from the norm.

Overall I think Egg prices just aren’t the example to use. It’s too easy for MAGA to refute. Even the website you shared shows their prices skyrocketing before Trump took office and dropping within Trump’s first 100 days in office.

If I were Trump, I would be using Egg prices as a sign of how well my administration was doing.

The reality is, he has nothing to do with egg prices, just like Biden didn’t. Associating it with Trump means you need to credit him with the good and not just the bad.

Yeah I mean at least that one is actually badass, especially compared to Trumps resting 'taking a dump' face.

Not that any of these deserve anything more that a lit match of course.

[–] derfunkatron@lemmy.world 3 points 2 months ago

There’s a really tacky element to Trump’s merch and propaganda that just screams grandma with clip art to me. There’s no coherent design ethos. The computer democratized the tools of design, but not the skill and thought of design.

The fascists of the past capitalized on the fact that they could control art schools and design firms and direct their output to serve the state. Our fascists defunded all of the art programs and refuse to value the work of experts, so we’re stuck with interns applying metallic effects to Times New Roman using pirated photoshop 7.0.

But I agree, nothing of value will be lost when it’s burned.

Trying to take your groceries home in DC

[–] Typhoon@lemmy.ca 3 points 2 months ago

That's amusing but I haven't seen any Americans standing up with that kind of bravery against the fascist takeover of their country.

[–] Deflated0ne@lemmy.world 9 points 2 months ago

It was however inevitable.

Not necessarily pedophile gameshow host induced fascism. But something would have happened. Corps and foreign countries own all our politicians. They stopped working for us. Started working for them.

If I had to put a date on when the US ended I'd say Janurary 21, 2010. The Citizens United decisions was the tombstone of the United States. That's when our end was locked in. The point of no return if you will.

More than a century ago, a few people like Jack London and Sinclair Lewis reckoned them coming, but not in a way they anticipated as their predictions never foreshadowed the coming of social media as a tool for thought control.

The question now is how far supposedly unaffected Americans are willing to let the bastards have their way? There really has to be a breaking point where they should realize they're being played by this Anti-Christ in the Oval Office and his white-power cronies.

[–] Nastybutler@lemmy.world 3 points 2 months ago

Be a real shame if someone in DC was bold enough to launch a Molotov cocktail at that fat, stupid face using some resistance bands

Imagine the excitement of young people wanting to enlist. The draft is near.

A lot of the Federal agency people he wants fired all happen to be the same colour, even if they feel sypathetic to his policy directions, such as the Fed governor.
