AI = sqrt((pc)^2^ + (m~0~c^2^ )^2^ ) - m~0~c^2^

[–] SendMePhotos@lemmy.world 8 points 17 hours ago

Let's be real, AI actually costs energy doesn't it?

[–] jayk@lemmy.ca 5 points 20 hours ago

only at rest

[–] very_well_lost@lemmy.world 110 points 22 hours ago (3 children)

This has gotta be satire, right?

....right?

[–] FartMaster69@lemmy.dbzer0.com 108 points 22 hours ago (1 children)

With LinkedIn it’s impossible to tell.

[–] nickhammes@lemmy.world 28 points 22 hours ago

Every time I see something this funny on LinkedIn, I remember that it would be an insult to the creative genius of the satirist who wrote it not to laugh react it. Have I laugh reacted something meant seriously? Probably, but it's for the greater good.

[–] practisevoodoo@lemmy.world 12 points 20 hours ago (1 children)

I have had students like this. Have asked me for references and everything.

[–] b_tr3e@feddit.org 3 points 20 hours ago (1 children)

So, have they been like that before they took your classes?

[–] practisevoodoo@lemmy.world 3 points 12 hours ago

They seemed normal in class, very keen.
Then it's dissertation time and they want to build levitating islands to solve global warming and getting into my office when I'm not there to leave weird notes on my monitor complaining that the department isn't responding to their 'funding proposal' emails.

[–] RogueBanana@piefed.zip 5 points 14 hours ago

Pretty sure it is. I remember seeing the same post a while ago where someone mentioned it's a troll account.

[–] iAmTheTot@sh.itjust.works 55 points 21 hours ago

I need this to be satire.

[–] bridgeenjoyer@sh.itjust.works 45 points 20 hours ago

Jfc this HAS to be satire. No one is this dumb. Wait yes they are. But still.

[–] tired_n_bored@lemmy.world 40 points 22 hours ago (1 children)

He even wrote that with ChatGPT 😭

[–] taco@piefed.social 16 points 21 hours ago (1 children)
[–] Septimaeus@infosec.pub 2 points 9 hours ago

Fuck outta here with your — oh wait mine are en dashes carry on

[–] g0d0fm15ch13f@lemmy.world 34 points 21 hours ago (1 children)

By including AI in the equation, it symbolizes

Fuckin lmao

[–] perishthethought@piefed.social 29 points 17 hours ago (1 children)

It's a real LI post:

https://www.linkedin.com/feed/update/urn:li:activity:7239360707425697792/

But I just read it and all of the author's replies to comments and I am still only about 70% sure he's joking. He must be though, right? He's an undergrad at Georgia Tech.

[–] Grass@sh.itjust.works 28 points 21 hours ago

this bothers me in so many ways I wasn't ready for

[–] Flax_vert@feddit.uk 25 points 8 hours ago* (last edited 8 hours ago)

You're missing out the best part. In the original post there's a PHD dude from MIT who just replies with "what"

[–] expatriado@lemmy.world 22 points 22 hours ago (2 children)

dude studying neuroscience, yet using less than 3% of the brain

[–] frezik@lemmy.blahaj.zone 4 points 20 hours ago

His professors should double check his submissions for AI slop.

[–] 9point6@lemmy.world 16 points 22 hours ago* (last edited 22 hours ago)

I think we should turn this guy's mass into energy by pelting him towards the sun at the speed of light

I'm sad that I can't just assume this guy is joking

[–] AllNewTypeFace@leminal.space 16 points 18 hours ago

The stupid, it burns

[–] Opisek@lemmy.world 15 points 13 hours ago* (last edited 13 hours ago) (1 children)

Undergraduate

Neuroscience

What gives them any credibility when it comes to computer science? The Dunning-Kruger is strong with this bubble.

Edit: After scrolling through their comment responses and comments under other posts, I'm fairly certain they're just trolling.

[–] FooBarrington@lemmy.world 9 points 8 hours ago (1 children)

Machine learning models use artificial neurons. "Neuroscience" contains all the letters from "neurons". "Computer science" is missing an n.

Who's stupid now?

[–] myotheraccount@lemmy.world 5 points 8 hours ago

This is a flawless argument

[–] Diddlydee@feddit.uk 14 points 22 hours ago

Should've got some sleep so you're thinking clearly, because that is some empty bullshit.

[–] RobotZap10000@feddit.nl 13 points 18 hours ago

Go Go Gadget Gouge My Eyes Out!

[–] Randomgal@lemmy.ca 13 points 4 hours ago

Likedin is a stand up comedy platform.

[–] atopi@piefed.blahaj.zone 13 points 6 hours ago

The AI actually represents the extra energy use caused overcomplicating things by adding the coolest new thing without thinking about what it is and how it might help

[–] VOwOxel@discuss.tchncs.de 12 points 1 hour ago (1 children)

If E=mc² and E=mc²+AI, it follows that AI=0. Which is an understatement because it doesn't just achieve nothing, it achieves regression.

it's means that either Artificial is zero, or Intelligence is zero (or both). given that we know it's artificial, it means that it has zero intelligence

[–] AeonFelis@lemmy.world 12 points 5 hours ago

One could use Bayes' law, replacing B with I:

P(A|I) = P(I|A)P(A)/P(I)
[–] wrinkledoo@sh.itjust.works 11 points 2 hours ago

"symbolizes"

You made a fucking logo and it sucks. Countless sleepless nights better spent at art school.

[–] lessthanluigi@lemmy.sdf.org 9 points 22 hours ago

The AI ideology has gone too far

[–] carl_dungeon@lemmy.world 8 points 18 hours ago

Jesus Christ

[–] melsaskca@lemmy.ca 8 points 5 hours ago

Some guy in the 80's was pushing the same thing but with "E=mc² + Texas Instruments Calculators". This is old news. /s

[–] QueenHawlSera@sh.itjust.works 6 points 13 hours ago

Sometimes I worry that one day someone will say the smartest thing I've ever heard in my life and I will laugh at them.

Because I already don't understand dumb people

[–] Deestan@lemmy.world 6 points 18 hours ago (1 children)

I actually got pretty much exactly this text when playing around with ChatGPT asking it to come up with inspiring tech bullshit.

[–] 4am@lemmy.zip 3 points 17 hours ago (1 children)

Probably LinkedIn is selling data to train AI

[–] Deestan@lemmy.world 1 points 11 hours ago

Yep. All social media are cashing in on that now.

Though my output was from before this post, so I'm pretty sure he just copypasted some LLM output

[–] Gurei@sh.itjust.works 5 points 5 hours ago

Would have been tastier with A1.

[–] b_tr3e@feddit.org 4 points 20 hours ago

A true genius! He's the new messiah!

[–] dylanmorgan@slrpnk.net 3 points 19 hours ago

I feel like this would be better placed in a “LinkedIn fuckwits” community. This is less lunacy and more tech trend bootlicking.

[–] Juice@midwest.social 3 points 2 hours ago* (last edited 2 hours ago)

College has become convincing dumb rich kids they are smart while convincing smart poor kids they are dumb.

I know there are good professors, good people who work at universities, that isn't who I want to criticise, just to be clear. But once accounting for that, the rest is just a fucked to death flaming pile of shit
