Everything that lives is designed to end. We are perpetually trapped... in a never-ending spiral of life and death. Is it a curse? Or some kind of punishment? I often think about the god who blessed us with this cryptic puzzle... and wonder if we'll have the chance to kill him.

I recognize Halo 4, but what's the first one ? reminds me of the haitian man in Limits of Control : The universe has no border. No end either. Reality is arbitrary (from memory)

Assassin's Creed. It's their maxim/motto. It leads into a whole discussion from Ezio about what it means, where he basically says by taking part in the world, we are responsible for driving change to make it better, nothing is set in stone; and we may not always know how are actions may end, but ultimately we need to do the best we can, and own the consequences, good or bad.

The actual quote:
