This meme went from

"Damn this autistic bitch"

To

"Eliminate with extreme prejudice"

Very quickly

Where did it say autistic? why should an interest in animals indicate autism?

[–] Monument@lemmy.sdf.org 0 points 2 days ago (1 children)

It’s inferred.

There’s a whole subset of people for whom that statement would be an expression of endearment.

I would more just assume some people have a playful relationship with their partners and the subject of neurodiversity.

Maybe it's just my interpretation or that I see myself in that meme, but I would not say that. Maybe they are a biologist or have an interest in biology? Is it so weird to have an interest in wildlife beyond "kill it with fire"? Also, the term "autistic bitch" does not really scream endearment.

Then that's my bad for it not being clear it's intended as endearment

I'm autistic myself, not an excuse, and I'd like it if friends messed with me like this.

I'm into spiders so I could see myself doing this to one I see.

Tldr: my intention was that I am the autistic bitch

For a second I thought they were trying to know if the bug was under age or not.

Don't want to be in trouble if I give it some beer!

I do use alcohol to help kill roaches. Different kind, of course. I know it's mean, but I can often squirt them with it easier than I can get to them. Once they are wet with alcohol they're disoriented (I'm sure writhing in pain, unfortunately), and I can put them out of their misery. The alcohol is also nice because disinfects.

I like to have drinks with the bugs before I get rid of them.

I am allowed to smoosh the lantern flies and the horned tomato eaters. But I'm not allowed to smoosh the tomato eaters if it looks like they have eldritch horrors growing from them, cause that's bad for them and good for us. Good is relative.

Mfw I see spotted lantern flies

[–] alt_xa_23@lemmy.world 0 points 2 days ago

They've recently reached my city, and I've killed 4 or 5 so far

In the US, European starlings are one of the only creatures the government pretty much gives carte blanche to eliminate by any means at any time of year.

Just had a moth inside, kinda annoying. Got a box to try to catch him but just so happened the next time I heard him fluttering about he was right by the door. So only had to open the door to and swish him out.

Moth friend is free!

I don't kill things unless they deserve it... or if they taste good.
