Rules:

  1. Post only links to articles, Title must fairly describe link contents. If your title differs from the site’s, it should only be to add context or be more descriptive. Do not post entire articles in the body or in the comments.

Links must be to the original source, not an aggregator like Google Amp, MSN, or Yahoo.

Example:

  1. Articles must be relevant to politics. Links must be to quality and original content. Articles should be worth reading. Clickbait, stub articles, and rehosted or stolen content are not allowed. Check your source for Reliability and Bias here.
  2. Be civil, No violations of TOS. It’s OK to say the subject of an article is behaving like a (pejorative, pejorative). It’s NOT OK to say another USER is (pejorative). Strong language is fine, just not directed at other members. Engage in good-faith and with respect! This includes accusing another user of being a bot or paid actor. Trolling is uncivil and is grounds for removal and/or a community ban.
  3. No memes, trolling, or low-effort comments. Reposts, misinformation, off-topic, trolling, or offensive. Similarly, if you see posts along these lines, do not engage. Report them, block them, and live a happier life than they do. We see too many slapfights that boil down to "Mom! He's bugging me!" and "I'm not touching you!" Going forward, slapfights will result in removed comments and temp bans to cool off.
  4. Vote based on comment quality, not agreement. This community aims to foster discussion; please reward people for putting effort into articulating their viewpoint, even if you disagree with it.
  5. No hate speech, slurs, celebrating death, advocating violence, or abusive language. This will result in a ban. Usernames containing racist, or inappropriate slurs will be banned without warning

We ask that the users report any comment or post that violate the rules, to use critical thinking when reading, posting or commenting. Users that post off-topic spam, advocate violence, have multiple comments or posts removed, weaponize reports or violate the code of conduct will be banned.

All posts and comments will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis. This means that some content that violates the rules may be allowed, while other content that does not violate the rules may be removed. The moderators retain the right to remove any content and ban users.

That's all the rules!

Sen. Ron Wyden (D-Ore.) told All Rise News that Donald Trump’s Department of Justice has been “sitting on” a file that he provided with “actionable” information about Jeffrey Epstein’s relationship with Wall Street banks.

“I've handed the Trump administration a ready-made Epstein case involving a billionaire financier and Wall Street banks, and they have done nothing with it,” Wyden said.

Attorney General Pam Bondi recently backtracked on promises that she made early in her tenure about major revelations in the Epstein case, but Wyden calls it “ludicrous” to suggest there’s nothing more to investigate.

“I know for a fact that the Trump administration is sitting on an Epstein file that contains new actionable information,” Wyden said. “So I don't blame anybody for asking what's going on.”

This man is LYING! Trump, who was Jeffrey Epstein's BEST FRIEND, OBVIOUSLY is the Only Person we can BELIEVE!

Can't a senator read anything on the floor of the senate without fear of prosecution and doing so enters that info into the public record of the senate?

[–] krashmo@lemmy.world 25 points 21 hours ago (1 children)

I don't think anyone can do anything without fear of prosecution anymore. That's a big part of this administrations strategy. Merit of a lawsuit has no bearing on the situation if it costs you hundreds of thousands of dollars to prove your innocence.

He has like a doctorate in law... Couldn't he represent himself?

[–] Boddhisatva@lemmy.world 7 points 15 hours ago

The saying I've always heard is, a lawyer who represents himself has a fool for a client.

[–] outhouseperilous@lemmy.dbzer0.com 2 points 28 minutes ago

Not always smart especially if you're an attorney yourself.

Its a scummy job the workings of which can bias a jury against you.

[–] krashmo@lemmy.world 2 points 17 hours ago

Theoretically. I doubt he would. Still, even in that case he has to make a significant time investment. I could reasonably be called an expert in my chosen field but I'd still be justifiably angry with you if you intentionally made me use the skills I've learned in my field under threat of financial or other legal repercussions.

I do have to hope it wasn't like... His only copy...

Publish it. Problem solved. The powers that be would be super angry, but like, that's a problem of their own creation.

Maybe he doesn't like being murdered in jail?

[–] Venus_Ziegenfalle@feddit.org 1 points 54 minutes ago

He wouldn't have to. It's still possible to hide. His career would be over for the time being though.

America is rotten to its core.

[–] littletoolshed@lemmy.world 5 points 23 hours ago

Not quite to the core; rather, it’s a little more (than usual) off to the right, but it’ll swing around some more.

[–] selkiesidhe@sh.itjust.works 17 points 20 hours ago

My senator, please... Don't make me send you more emails... You gotta be tired of hearing me complain.

Oregon will have your back; release the info!!!

[–] gidostro@lemmy.cafe 9 points 23 hours ago

So publish it.

It's like when people say they had Hunter Biden's laptop.

I don't care what they say. Where's the proof? It's a billionaire pedo secret club involving too many powerful people. Did he just send the evidence in to be buried and then burned the receipts?

"Ah jeez I had evidence on this thing but I guess it was lost in the mail, jeez, ah jeez man, I don't blame people for JAQing off, jeez"

[–] SoleInvictus@lemmy.blahaj.zone 4 points 19 hours ago

Put up or shut up, Ron.
