Long story short is that America has literally been going through "First they came for ..." for months now.
I can already see the headlines from later this year and the next, about how "no one could see it coming" and "why didn't anyone warn me(better)". You can actually just go to communities making fun of pro-brexit folk and see the same quotes from them afterwards.
Months. Did you somehow miss black lives matter? The rapid growth of the prison industrial complex? This is just the explosive conclusion to a pattern that was well underway long before Trump.

We better start preparing for a stronger resistance now while we still can.
- find local communities and get involved to make connections
- We can effect things drastically with a general strike. This targets the establishment's income streams, and can bring a fascist government to its knees if done on a large enough scale.
- Contact a union and attempt to unionize your workplace so that the general strike is even more effective (plus, ya know, better pay and working conditions as a bonus!)
This method would not only work in the US, but anywhere in the world.

- Continuing to participate in publicly visible resistance demonstrations like 50501 (the next one is July 17th) to encourage others to stand up with you and prove to that there are millions of others who will join them in the fight. A large part of Nazi Germany's success in taking over the country was a lack of massive public demonstrations against the new regime, making people feel helpless and afraid to take a stand.
If we put in the work, we can resist this and we can win. Look at how effective these methods were when used in Chile in 2019.. If we completely reject the political system and rebel on a mass scale, there is NOTHING they can do to stop us.

Both of them should honestly be real worried about that. If Trump gets to fully exercise that power, and they step out of line a little bit, either one of them would be exiled in no time.

The president of the United States has always been a public servant who represents the people of our country. He's not a king among men the Office of the President should not have the ability to strip the citizenship of any individual that's what immigration courts are for!
Because more Americans are either fully on board and support this, or don't give enough of a shit to care compared to those who oppose this behavior., and piss and moan every day about how "tHiS iS nOt wHo wE ArE"
Trump is literally America's spirit animal, he represents everything that America stands for: greed, ignorance, hate, racism, bigotry, misogyny, corruption, and deceit. Trump is not an outlier, he is America's mirror.

In this specific case? We've spent the last two decades watching overly broad anti terrorism laws get passed under the implicit agreement they wouldn't be abused. Then comes Trump. Americans have been asleep at the wheel since the 1970's. That's part of why right wing rhetoric keeps getting more extreme. They need to keep their voting base engaged. Most people don't want anything to do with politics. If that doesn't change then no amount of reform will prevent us from voting ourselves out of a democracy.

Its a good thing Democratic leadership has condemned this. They obviously don't like the man and see him as a threat, but Trump's actions are far worse. They did stand up for him right? Right?
